Real Wedding: Yellow Shoes, DIY Details, and a Happy Bride and Groom!

We are so in love with this wedding: the bright yellow shoes (so cute), the bridesmaid dresses (a lovely shade of purple) and the groomsmen attire (purple shirts and yellow ties), and, of course, the bride and groom – how adorable are Kathryn and Ryan? They opted for a first look, which made for incredibly cute pictures in the scenic yellow fields of flowers. The day looked absolutely beautiful, and photographer Meegan Weaver captured it perfectly!

The bride, Kathryn, tells us about the day in her own words:

“I am really not sure were to begin…Ryan and I wanted our day to be as unique as possible. We are two very simple people. We didn’t want anything fancy, traditional, and most importantly, expensive.

First, the dress; my $180 J Crew dress that was found on Ebay completed my day. Finding the dress set the mood. Looking at wedding blogs also made me realize that there are some awesome photos that can be taken to capture your day. Before I got engaged I had been eyeballing Meegan Weaver Photography – her work is amazing! So when I got engaged and set a date, she was the first person I called. As you can see, she did an amazing job with my bridals and our wedding day.

When it came to Ryan and his groomsmen, Levi’s were the answer. Ryan wears Levi’s every day and he looks great in them every day, period. Plus, I wanted all the men to be casual and comfortable.

My family and friends helped me with the decorations for the church and reception. Many hours were spent blog surfing, cutting, gluing, pining and chatting over many glasses of wine. My grandmother arranged all the flowers. All the food was prepared by our families which included 20 bundt cakes, over 100 Ibs of meat, and all the sides.

The wedding and reception was amazing! We had a photo booth which added a bit of excitement to the evening. The dance was a blast. Everyone participated, Ryan showed me dance moves that I had never seen before, and everyone got to do the chicken dance! Everything was done under budget and with little stress! A huge thanks goes out to Etsy and all the vendors within who made our day complete!”
