Top 10 Reusable Wedding Decorations

Posted November 12, 2012 | ♥ Leave a Comment!

Hello, loves, and Happy Monday! We hope you had a great weekend. I (Emma here!) love Mondays in particular since we get to kick off a brand new week of handmade wedding inspiration and launch a new giveaway (details on that coming up next!) This weekend, I had the honor of signing copies of my new book in lovely Northville, Michigan at Next Chapter Bookstore and Bistro. I wanted to extend my gratitude to those who came out to visit me and purchase a copy. It was wonderful to see your smiling faces!

To kick off the brand new week, we’re talking about reusable wedding decorations. Instead of buying decorations to be thrown away after your wedding, consider reusable wedding decorations meant as keepsakes in your home. To show you what we mean – and provide plenty of inspiration! – we’ve compiled ten favorite new finds. Read on to see which decorations made the list + find how we recommend using ‘em. Enjoy!

Reusable Wedding Decorations

1. Bride + Groom Custom Illustration Print

Who wouldn’t love a custom illustration made in their image? This find is one of my favorite illustrations to date. At the wedding, display on an easel for guests to view upon entering the reception; after the big day, frame and display in your love nest. DIY Fishtail Braid

Posted November 9, 2012 | ♥ 1 Comment

Happy Friday, everyone! So, I (Emma here!) need to try a new hairstyle every few months or so to mix things up. Over the last few months, I’ve been gaga for top knots, hair buns, DIY Hair Bows – even curly top knot turned side chignons (my favorite). Today, I’m here to talk about my latest hair obsession: the fishtail braid. This sweet, boho-inspired hairstyle has been gaining popularity and I see it sticking as a popular hairstyle in 2013. Whether you’re a bride-to-be looking for a perfect wedding day hairstyle or you’re like me and hoping to score a new favorite DIY ‘do, you’ll love today’s feature. Instead of keeping my own DIY fishtail braid research to myself (which is no fun for anyone), I’m sharing my favorite DIY fishtail braid finds with you today. Check out an amazing how to fishtail braid video, read a few tips, and check out Real Wedding examples below. This hairstyle is perfect for weddings, special occasions, nights out on the town, and date night! I know I’ll be giving it a try this weekend myself. So… if you have questions, share ‘em in the comments area at the bottom of the most and we’ll try to muddle through together. :) (Oh, and P.S… short-haired lovelies will find some DIY fishtail braids to try, too! This style certainly isn’t for long-haired locks alone.) Enjoy!

Maggie + Stephen’s Real Wedding: Part One

Posted November 2, 2012 | ♥ Leave a Comment!

One of the most memorable moments of the wedding day is getting ready. The bride shares in those excited, anticipatory moments with her mom, Maid of Honor, and bridesmaids as she gets her hair and makeup done; meanwhile, the groom, Best Man, and groomsmen get ready and share in a celebratory toast. Since these moments are so unforgettable, we’re sharing the ‘Getting Ready’ portion of Maggie and Stephen’s Real Wedding today as a prelude to the ceremony and reception. Michelle of Michelle Gardella Photography captured this couple’s anticipation so vividly that one can almost feel like they’re in the room. Watch as the bride receives a special note from her groom, gives her father a teary “first look”, and smiles with bridesmaids as she prepares to walk down the aisle in 3…2…1…
