Vintage Natural Inspired Wedding
Katie says, “We love non-traditional wedding flowers! The florals created by Ashleigh’s Garden for Samantha and Christopher’s wedding are nothing short of bright, wild-flower amazingness. The gorgeous day is inspired by a vintage, natural feel. Nature is everywhere in this wedding from the organic, bright flower arrangements to the vintage bird-watching images on the tables. Did we mention the incredible terrarium centerpieces that Samantha created?! These two love birds took the already incredible Lace Factory venue and turned it into a greenhouse! Add in a vintage teal bicycle and we’re in love. It was so fun to be a part of this laughter-filled, nature-loving, detail-oriented day!”
Samantha tells us, “We wanted a casual, intimate and vintage feel to our wedding. We focused the details on nature and the outdoors, which we both love. That’s where the trees, terrariums and birds came from. It was important to us that our guests had outdoors available to them, therefore our ceremony was outside and our venue allowed for guests to be inside and outside without missing out on the reception.
“We tried to do as much DIY as possible! Most of our stationary was purchased on Etsy.com, which we then printed and assembled ourselves. The rest, like the menus and escort cards, we created completely from scratch, and glued each feather for a special touch! A friend even designed the train tickets we provided to our guests. My bridesmaids, mother and mother in law helped me to create all of the terrariums which were used as our centerpieces.”
“We also printed large, black and white posters of all of our parents and grandparents wedding photos which I affixed to foam board in order to create a little gallery of wedding photos to use to decorate the reception venue. All of the signage was made by us as well! A close friend of ours also provided the ceremony music, and, along with some friends of his, the cocktail hour music. This was one of the best, most raved about, part of our wedding! There were very few details that we DIDN’T do ourselves. It was important to me that our wedding felt personal and special and I felt that DIY was the best way to make that happen!”
“Everything about the day was perfect. It is hard to choose a favorite part. I have to say, I adored the flowers, they blew me away. But really, my favorite part was being surrounded by so much love and family. I have never been so happy in my life as I was that day.”
