15-20 stems of Rose Vendela cream
8-10 stems of Lemon Papoose
Silver Mercury Glass Pedestal Vase
Aquafoam or Oasis floral foam
Floral Scissors
Paring Knife
Before you begin, you need to prep your flowers.
PREP YOUR FLOWERS
Peonies are lush, gorgeous flowers! Peonies will ship to you in bud stage. This is the best way for them to arrive and last a long time. Watching the full bloom process of peonies is very exciting!
With sharp floral shears, cut at least 1½” to 2” off each stem of the peonies at a diagonal and quickly place it in water. You’ll want to make sure you remove any foliage that falls below the water line. The temperature of the room can also affect how quickly they open – warmer room – faster they open.
Peonies can drink plenty of water, especially on the first day of hydrating. Check how much water is in your vase to ensure the peonies are in at least 4-5 inches of clean water. Use a tall vase to help support the peonies while they are hydrating.
Prepping your roses – Remove any thorns from the roses. Clean up the stems by removing foliage that would sit under the water line.
Ranunculus also should be cut 1-2″ at a diagonal. Placed them in a tall vase with water, cleaning up stems by removing foliage that sits under the water line. Ranunculus arrive with offshoot buds that will not bloom.
Now you’re ready to make your own bridal shower centerpiece.
HOW TO
Step 1- Prep all your flowers by cutting at least 1″ from the bottom of the stems on a 45-degree angle. Remove all foliage that will be under the vase or container water line. Have all the flowers prepped and ready to put together your centerpiece.
Step 2- Place soaked foam into the glass mercury vase and cut foam to size.
Step 3- Add in Lemon Papoose around the bottom of the vase sticking the stems into the saturated wet foam.
Step 4 – The peony is the focal flower in the silver mercury glass vase. Place five-six peony blooms in the wet foam nestled around the Lemon papoose. Cut the stems to the length needed to round out the centerpiece.
Step 5- Cut rose stems to the length needed and place in-between the peonies and lemon papoose.
Step 6- Where you have gaps, tuck in ranunculus, filling in the gaps between the flowers. Place the ranunculus in the foam displaying a whimsical look.
Step 7- Nestle more lemon papoose, peonies, and roses to fill up any gaps. Let the greenery flow freely with the yellow ranunculus.
Step 8 – Once the centerpiece is filled, with no gaps, it is complete!
