Are you looking for photo wedding invitation designs? Now they’re as popular as ever and we’re showing you the best designs you can get. But first, join our list for the latest to your inbox!
The latest trend in wedding stationery is… you guessed it, a wedding invitation with a photo of the couple! But before you check out these designs, we’re answering a question from Anna who wands to know, should wedding invitations have pictures?
She writes,
“Hi Emmaline! I’m picking out my wedding invites and I was wondering if invitations should have pictures on them, or is that more appropriate for save the date cards? I like the idea but I’m not sure if that will look formal enough. Thank you for your help.”
Should Wedding Invites Have Photos?
Great question, Anna! The answer to whether invitations should have a photo or pictures depends largely on what you envision. As a rule of thumb, many couples forego the photo on an invite because they feel like it takes up too much of the design space, but I disagree: I think a photo on an invitation gives a warm and personal feel. Guests love to see your faces!
While motifs, themes, color trends, and designs are still wildly popular, we’re seeing couples opting for an invitation with a photo as the focal point — and for good reason.
A photo on your invite is a creative way to make a personal connection and add a custom touch to your stationery. And since you’ve probably taken so many beautiful engagement photos already, isn’t it time to put them to good use? :)
Thanks to Minted, now you can get a wedding invitation with photo — front and center! — without sacrificing style.
In their new invitation collection, there are many wedding photo invitations to choose from including the All-In-One Wedding Invitation assortment that we discussed at-length here (who can forget how brilliant there are?)
Why Should You Choose a Wedding Invitation with Photo?
It’s true that couples are choosing photo invitations because they want to share a favorite snapshot, but there are other reasons, too.
A photo invitation will:
• Make your invites stand out among others
• Add a personal touch to your stationery
• Give you the ability to completely customize your invitation suite
• Acquaint guests with your soon-to-be spouse, in case they aren’t yet familiar with him or her
• Give you an alternative to a central motif, theme, or style
If you’re not set on a color palette yet, and your theme is still being decided, an invitation with a photo instead of a design is a great way to go. And thanks to Minted, these invitations combine a little bit of both: a beautiful design, elegant photo placement, and typography you will adore.
Invitation with Photo of Couple
Photo wedding invitations are also popular this year for couples who have eloped or tied the knot in a small ceremony earlier last year, yet are planning a big reception bash this summer, fall, or winter. This makes it easy to share a favorite photo from your wedding ceremony and invite guests to celebrate your marriage at your reception.
Here is a perfect example of an invite including a photo from your ceremony. This card invites your guests to your wedding celebration following an elopement or small ceremony, which took place on a prior date. Design by Jennifer Postorino.
And also, if you’ve already taken the most amazing engagement pictures, why keep them all to yourself? :) Get those digital photos off of your phone and get them printed as photo wedding invitations online. You can even edit the wording, the colors, and more all with the click of a button for truly one-of-a-kind invites.
