We love hearing from our readers, so we were ecstatic when Rachael sent over her recent Ohio engagement shoot to share (photographed by Marissa Bowers art * design * photo *). Rachael and Nick are planning a New Years 2012 wedding full of DIY and handmade details, many of which, she tells us, were spotted on our blog. (Yay!) She says, “[Emmaline Bride] has been a great inspiration! We’re committed to making as much for the wedding ourselves as possible, and what we lack the time (or talent) to do ourselves, we are having handmade [by artisans], so it’s great to have a go-to site for DIY wedding resources.” It sounds like this will be one amazing handmade wedding with tons of charm!
Rachael knew Marissa would be their perfect photographer because they shared a mutual love for all things crafty. Upon the first meeting, they hit it off immediately and began to brainstorm about photo props and location ideas to make the photos extra special. Rachael got to work on handmade props (that’s our girl!) such as the adorable image transfer box featuring her own artwork on the outside. She also handmade the bunting banner which reads, “Be My Honey Pie”. This Cincinnati, Ohio engagement shoot took place at a local abandoned factory (Marissa tells us the factory was even used in horror films, according to Google) and followed by a visit to a beautiful blooming fruit farm. So, without further adieu, we present the shoot! Enjoy!
Don’t they make a beautiful couple? We wish you both the best of luck as you continue to check off your wedding planning to-do list! We can’t wait to see your wedding photos capturing all of the handmade details + hard work you’ve put into your special day! Thanks for sending in the images, and a special shout-out to Marissa Bowers for letting us share these with our readers, too.
Happy Planning!
xo,
-E.
