Hi, loves! It’s Emmaline Bride on the weekend… and since we’re always up for answering the latest wedding advice question from you guys, here goes! Sara wrote us with a question about hairstyles, specifically wedding hair down with veil hairstyles. Her wedding is coming up in just a few weeks, so we wanted to swoop in and help ASAP. She writes,
HI Emmaline Bride, I am getting married in October and still haven’t figured out my hairstyle. Do you have any wedding hair down with veil images or suggestions? I have long hair and want to wear it down because I almost always wear it down (and want to look like myself in wedding pics). I haven’t been able to find something where the bride’s hair looks ‘fancy’ enough for the wedding day. Any tips are appreciated. Thank you!
Hi Sara, and great question! I, too, have loooong hair and lately I’ve been wondering the same thing about brides who don’t particularly love the idea of an updo, but can’t decide on a wedding hair down with veil look. Sounds easy enough, right? But then how should you style your hair — curly? straight? I hear ya. Anyways, we went to work on your question and we found some really lovely examples of how to wear your hair down WITH a veil and have it look fancy enough for your big day. The veils we spotted (and photo inspo with hair down hairstyles) are from the very beautiful Blair Nadeau Millinery. Check them out! (Photos by Whitney Heard Photography.)
Wedding Hair Down with Veil Hairstyles
One of my favorite wedding hair down with veil suggestions is definitely a Juliet veil. These are vintage-inspired but you’ll see how brides wear their hair down with a Juiliet veil oh-so-effortlessly:
Here’s a closer look so you can see the bride’s hairstyle, worn down with soft curls:
Another example is this lace Juliet cap veil with a flower. As you can see, the bride is wearing her hair down in beautiful curls…
This chantilly lace veil is also a Juliet cap style:
For a more traditional look, try this single layer veil with a cathedral length:
Here’s an example of an ivory drop veil with blusher and hair wreath:
Here is an outstanding bridal veil with mantilla lace on the border:
… and the back!
This rose gold chantilly lace veil is another favorite:
And, if you’d like to remove the veil for the reception or wear a veil alternative, try these beautiful options: a crown and a hair chain.
Love this hair chain:
