It’s time for another Ask Emmaline wedding advice question! Bride-to-be Karen wants to buy caramel apple favors for her wedding but she’s not sure where to go. She writes,
“I’m planning a late fall wedding and we’re deciding on wedding favors. We want to give caramel apples as favors to guests. I originally wanted to make them ourselves, but I’m not sure how difficult it will be and I am not sure where to buy them. Do you have any ideas on where to get apples in bulk or where to buy caramel apple favors for weddings? Thanks!”
Great question, Karen! There are a few options when it comes to making or buying caramel apples for your wedding favors. Here are some tutorials for making your own DIY caramel apples, where to buy caramel apple favors, and a few caramel apple alternatives that you’ll find almost as good as the real thing. Enjoy!
DIY Caramel Apple Favors
If you have time, a few helpers, and a little patience, you can make incredible DIY caramel apple favors thanks to this brilliant tutorial from Evermine. Check out their DIY project here. You could make them however you’d like: dip apples in white chocolate (as shown in image below), in dark or milk chocolate, sprinkles, etc. I also like the favor tags you can make from their site that say, “Apple-y Married”. Cute play on words! My choice apple: sprinkles. Always sprinkles!
Another DIY tutorial we love is this one from Martha Stewart Weddings: mini candies apple favors! Get the full how-to here.
If you do make your own apple favors, we love these green leaf tags you can attach (from Jen Aitchinson):
