If you love music like I do, you might have thought about giving cd wedding favors to guests at your reception.
But Emma, isn’t it 2021! Are people still giving CD wedding favors?
Apparently, yes. And now they’re a cool, vintage find! Ha! And that’s because CDs are still very relevant. I mean, most cars still come equipped with CD players, and most computers still come equipped with CD drives. And tossing a cd in the car is a quick way for guests to crank up some serious tunes on the drive home from your wedding. CD wedding favors are still very much appreciated — and very inexpensive, might I add. You can get a spindle of fifty of ’em for a mere 10ish bucks.
So, if you want to easily make cd wedding favors, here’s how you do it!
How to Make CD Wedding Favors
1.) Make an awesome playlist
Write down your favorite songs and converse with your fiance about them.
PRO TIPS:
o Make sure you both l o v e the selected songs
o Opt for classic songs that guests are sure to love
o Go for fun easy-to-dance to songs guests will want to shake their booty to
o Make sure all the songs have clean lyrics
o Be absolutely sure the lyrics are happy — no need for depressing tunes here!
2.) Make a list of the song titles and artists
When guests listen to a song and love it, they’ll want to know who it is! Include a list of the songs listed in order of track number.
3.) Burn the cds.
You’ll probably have to do this one at a time, so, sorry. Be patient, drink lots of coffee, and watch stuff on Netflix while you wait.
3.) Pack them up all pretty in favor cases
There CD favor cases from BrossieBelle are pretty amazing. They can be used for CD favors or DVD favors. Take a look!
Now… CD favors are great, but suppose you want something a little more modern? Something guests can re-use with their own favorite songs?
That’s where USB favors come into play! Couples are putting their playlists on USBs (flash drives) as an alternate to CDs. Here’s how to do it!
How to Make USB Wedding Favors
1.) Order USB / flash drives in bulk.
You’ll get a cheaper rate if you order them all in bulk, at once. For bulk USBs or flash drives, try promotion companies like VistaPrint or try Amazon.
2.) Transfer your songs from your playlist to each USB drive.
See above in CD section.
3.) Package them up in cute favor cases

Professional CD/DVD case!
I’ve thought about this idea before but I have my concerns about giving out burned copies of music. I’m one of those old school people who still buys all their music (no downloaded copies) so I would feel guilty giving away copies of songs for free. What are you thoughts on that?
Hi Kayla! I understand what you mean. I definitely believe you should pay for the tracks you use; you’re not selling the cds, so I don’t believe it’s a problem there. But you could limit it to your top five favorite songs. Or, as an alternative, you could make a movie thanking guests for attending your wedding and burn it to a DVD, or burn some photos to it. Just an idea! I totally hear your concerns, though and appreciate you bringing it up!
What are your thoughts on these?
Such cool ideas. I like the USB cases.
Aren’t they neat, Manda? Krista does such a great job with them! Good luck on the giveaway.
