Did you know there is such a thing as an Etsy Wedding Registry? If you didn’t know it existed, welcome! We’ll show you how it works and what to add! Be sure to subscribe now for the latest to your inbox.
Do you love handmade? Do you like to support small independent businesses and choose personal, heartfelt gifts for your home? Well, you’ve come to the right place!
If you want to register for specific gifts that bring you joy, even if it’s handmade ceramic bowls, the fluffiest towels you’ve ever found, inspiring artwork, memorable keepsakes for your wedding, or a cool furniture set… you CAN have it all with the Etsy wedding registry. (I’d like to think Marie Kondo says these all spark some serious joy.)
Yes, your dreams have come true: Etsy has a wedding registry and IT IS AMAZING.
When I planned my own wedding, I would have loved an Etsy wedding registry, but it did not exist yet. I also wished for an IKEA one, I even asked someone that worked there, but nope! (And now? It does!)
There are actually a few places that offer a wedding registry now that you may not know about (I know Mackenzie-Childs has a registry here, so fun! — and Zola has one, too!) but the Etsy registry is definitely the best thing since sliced bread.
EVERYTHING handmade, at your fingertips, available to add to your Ultimate Wish List? Count us in! And of course, the Etsy wedding registry is totally free to join!
Today we’ll tell you how to use the Etsy wedding registry, how to add items to your registry, and how to publish it for guests to find.
We’re also sharing the best Etsy wedding registry ideas to add to yours now to get the ball rolling; you’re going to love ’em all!
Let’s get to it!
Etsy Wedding Registry
First, let’s talk about how to use the Etsy wedding registry. It’s easy!
How to Use Etsy Wedding Registry
• Click here for FREE to start your own registry
On their website, it will look like this:
Click “Create Wedding Registry”. It will then ask you for your wedding date. If you’re not sure, just guesstimate. :)
Then, click “Create”. You’ll see a screen like this telling you to start adding products. There are products separated by category to make it easy!
Once you’ve created your registry, it’s time to add products.
How to Add Items to Your Registry on Etsy
Now, you have the entire catalog of everyone on Etsy at your fingertips! Here’s how to add items to your Etsy registry.
-Search on Etsy to find an item you like
-Click the item to view its details
-Click on the “heart” (known as “Favorite” which will add it to the list of your “favorites”)
For an example, let’s look at this “It All Began At” engagement dish by Magic Markings Art. All you have to do is click on the heart on the photo, like so:
The heart will turn red to show you’ve favorited it.
Then… quickly! Click “ADD TO LIST” in the pop-up at the bottom of the screen and select your registry. (It pops up quickly, so you may need to re-try if you miss it!)
Then this will pop up:
That’s it! You’ve just added your first item to your Etsy wedding registry. Congrats!
To add more items to your registry, simply repeat the steps. You can search anything in their search bar and start favoriting/adding to your registry.
And, at any time, be sure to:
How to Edit Your Etsy Wedding Registry
You can remove an item from your Etsy registry easily.
When logged in to your Etsy account, click “Favorites” in the top bar (another way to view it: this Manage Your Registry link)
It will show your current “Favorites” and items added to your registry.
To remove an item, click the heart again to “un-favorite” it. It will be removed from your favorites and your Etsy wedding registry.
How to Publish and Make Your Etsy Wedding Registry Searchable
Now, this is very important: for anyone to find your registry and, ya know, buy you gifts, you need to “publish” your Etsy wedding registry.
This is easy to do: simply click “Share” in your registry page here. You will see prompts to enter your name, your partner’s name, wedding date (this is already filled in), then click “Continue”.
It will ask you for your shipping address, so guests can have gifts mailed directly to you.
That’s it! Congrats, you’re all set. Now your mom, dad, sister, brother, aunt, cousin, BFF, bridesmaids, grandmother, grandpa, etc. can ALL search your cool new Etsy wedding registry. And you can see which items are fulfilled (i.e. purchased) at anytime by logging in to your list.
How Many Items Can You Add to Your Etsy Wedding Registry?
There is a limit of 100 items in your registry. You can add, edit, remove, or add special instructions (i.e., “We really like this in blue!”), etc. at any time.
OK, so… now you know how to create an Etsy wedding registry, how to use the registry, how to add and remove items, and more.
It’s time to add to your list!
Here are our top picks for Etsy wedding registry items you’ll love to have on your list right now. Enjoy!
