It’s a brand new year at Emmaline Bride and that means fresh posts + planning tips! We are offering new category-posts Monday through Friday to ensure you have (real, practical) planning tips for any aspect of your wedding, every single week. Mondays are for Invitations and Stationery, so today we’re sharing one of our favorite wedding invitation tips! Read on to find out more and see an illustrated beach wedding invitation from B is for Brown via The Marketplace.
Song Request on RSVP
One of our favorite wedding invitation tips is to include a song request on RSVP cards. When Andrew & I tied the knot, we did not include a song request on the RSVP cards, but that’s because WE DIDN’T THINK YOU COULD! I mean, we had never seen it done before and hadn’t really even considered it, but we thought the invitations had to be oh-so-formal.
Remember: it’s your wedding. There are no rules!
Your big day is all about the two of you, so adding little details like these in unexpected places will really show off your fun, creative side. A song request on RSVP cards will encourage guests to submit a song for your playlist (and you have final say, of course), which then means they’ll be eager to hear the songs you select for the big day. They’re also more likely to dance when their jam comes on, so keep that in mind, too!
We spotted this adorable illustrated wedding invitation from B is for Brown that includes a song request on RSVP:
