Are you looking for the best washable flats? Me too.
Emma here and I need to get something off of my chest: regular flats get sweaty and make your feet stink. :) Yuck! Isn’t it so true, though, especially in the spring and summer?
Last year, it pretty much made me skip flats altogether, or at least, I invested way too much money in those liners that NEVER STAY ON YOUR FEET!
I’m still getting over the frustration.
It’s not just the sweaty shoe problem… it is when your flats keep getting dirty with regular wear and then you’re faced with unusual problems like squeaking. Loud, boisterous squeaking. For instance, I was reading a shoe review the other day online and it made me laugh so hard that I spit out my coffee and Andrew even asked what was so funny. I could barely make it through the review without chuckling as the woman wrote, “The shoes look nice and feel comfortable, but man do they stink. And once my feet begin to perspire, the toe section becomes very squeaky and noisy.” It is funny because it is raw and honest. Lady, I hear you.
We all want flats that are:
3) not stinky — and if they do, we want them to be washable flats
Is that so much to ask? I just want to wear my favorite flats all over the place, let them get dirty, and make them look clean and brand new again — but that’s only if you can find flats that you can wash.
Well, guess what? I found them, you guys, at Birdies. Washable flats.
They now have stylish washable flats for sale with a washable insole AND — yep, this one’s a biggie to me, too — the shoe is washable itself. In YOUR own washing machine. Not some fancy, double-size machine and without requiring some obscure laundry detergent.
Oh — and if you’re not familiar with Birdies yet, here’s a little secret: think slippers, but they’re real shoes (remember these?!) They feel like you’re wearing slippers, but they are real shoes. Sounds like a great workday shoe to me!
These washable flats look to be the most comfortable on the market. I’ve seen other washable flats like big brand names, but they always look a little funny to me. And they seem either way too cheap to be quality or overpriced to make me wonder if washable shoes are even worth it.
But then I spotted these and they seem like the best washable flats with a twist: comfort and style, without an insane price tag. Plus, they have great neutral colors to go with everything, they don’t “look” like your typical washable shoes, and they offer a comfy insole and a 30-day guarantee, so it’s a win for me.
Now, these JUST LAUNCHED: that means they are so new that I haven’t had a chance to try them out personally yet. But I sure can’t wait to give ’em a go!
Best Washable Flats
These washable knit flats are designed with comfort and utility in mind; the insoles are completely removable and you can wash the shoes themselves in your home washing machine.
(It sounded too good to be true, so I watched their video and read their step-by-step instruction, and yes, it’s the truth: flats that can be washed.)
You don’t need a fancy washing machine to do it and you don’t need special soap. See the instructions here (spoiler: it’s easy).
These Birdies’ knit Blackbird (their collection of washable flats) feature:
• machine washable flats with insoles you can wash, too
• soft-as-a-cloud comfort
• a cozy sock-like fit
• go-with-everything colors: jet, eggshell, and coral
• breathability (bye-bye, stinky feet!) thanks to its unlined upper
• lightweight and compact, suitable for everyday wear and travel
• 30-day fit guarantee
And did we mention they look awesome with jeans, dress pants, skirts, and dresses? They do.
Are they the best washable flats? Well, without trying them yet personally and comparing to another, I can’t say for certain, but I do know this:
• These are the best washable flats we’ve found in terms of LOOKS and price point, especially for the quality of materials
(And that thirty-day guarantee doesn’t hurt, either!)
What color will you pick? I think I would pick the coral and go for a bright and cheery color. I really need spring and summer to get here quickly; this winter is really dragging on! These coral flats could be the washable solution to my current flats fiasco.
Where to Buy Flats That Can Be Washed
Where do you get these magical washable flats, you ask? Sure thing: to buy washable flats for sale, visit the collection.
But hurry, last I checked the sizes were flying off the shelves as these were highly-anticipated from other Birdies’ fans, like me!
