Do you wear a wedding crown or tiara with our without a veil? That’s the question that came in from Melissa in our Ask Emmaline inbox. She writes,
Hi Emmaline, I want to wear a gold wedding crown on my wedding day and my mom says I should wear a veil for the ceremony. I don’t mind wearing a veil for the ceremony but I don’t usually see a crown paired with a veil. Are wedding crowns and tiaras typically worn with a veil or without? Does it look okay both ways? Thanks!
Hi Melissa, great question! To keep the peace and since you like or don’t mind the idea of a veil, the good news is this: yes, you can wear a wedding crown with a veil or without. We’ve seen it done beautifully both ways. Many brides (and perhaps their mothers) are feeling the same way as you: they don’t want to miss out on the classic veiled look. But they’re also enamored by the bridal veil alternatives available today, like wedding crowns and tiaras.
We’ve seen it both ways, and you may be surprised as how beautiful your wedding crown will look paired with a classic veil. And remember, you could always wear the veil for the ceremony and just the crown for the reception.
Here’s an example we found of a gorgeous wedding crown by Gilded Shadows paired with and without a veil. Kristen has a beautiful collection of wedding crowns and tiaras, veils, jewelry, and more including the crown and the veil you see in the photos below. Here’s the wedding crown without a veil.
And here’s a photo of the crown with a veil. I think it looks so elegant!
I honestly love the look both ways, with and without the veil. The best of both worlds, I say! :)
Anyways, hope it helps + thanks for writing! To buy this wedding crown, shop here!
