Hi, lovelies! Looking for a fun alternative guest book idea? We’ve found it! Introducing the wedding pinata, one of the latest-and-greatest guest book alternatives we’ve seen yet. Instead of a traditional guest book, each guest writes a message (a joke, a note, well wishes, or words of advice) on a piece of paper and places it inside the piñata. On your one year wedding anniversary, break open the piñata to discover heartwarming messages left by guests. Fun idea! Find out more about the wedding pinata and get inspired with a few handmade finds!
If you want to bring this idea to fruition, all you need is a pinata, paper for messages, pens, and a sign letting guests know what to do. Since a charming pinata is the hardest thing to find, we’ve done the searching for you! Here are a few wedding pinatas that are festive + fitting for the occasion…
Once you have the piñata, display it on a table as seen in the top image. Use a hanging stand (like this, depending on the size of your piñata) that has a hook on it; tie a ribbon to one end of the pinata. Include a sign next to the piñata that lets guests know what to do. A chalkboard works great for this: you’ll want one large enough to explain how the wedding pinata works. Don’t forget one of these for propping and displaying the chalkboard. MONEY SAVING TIP: Many venues offer an easel to rent, so be sure to ask before you buy!
