Whiskey Barrel Guest Book
A whiskey barrel guest book is a perfect example of a guest book “alternative”, which is a guest “book” used to record signatures and well-wishes from guests but isn’t a traditional flip-through book. Guest book alternatives, like this one, are getting lots of attention because couples want new twists on classic wedding accents. A classic guest book is great, but when is the last time I flipped through my own? It’s been awhile. It sits on the shelf and, you know what they say — out of sight, out of mind. Instead, a guest book alternative like this is displayed on the wall and enjoyed day after day. Where was it when I got married?!
Here is an example of what a real whiskey barrel guest book looks like:

This guest book looks beautiful, but that’s not the only reason why couples it so much. Here are five reasons to hop on-board the whiskey barrel guest book trend right now!
5 Reasons to Use a Whiskey Barrel Guest Book
1. A whiskey barrel guest book is custom and one-of-a-kind.
A whiskey barrel guest book is unique and unlike any other guest book on the market right now. It will definitely be a conversation-starter among guests. Each whiskey barrel guest book is completely custom, making it an ideal choice for handcrafted weddings.
2. It is a wedding essential you will use, even after the wedding.
This guest book alternative doubles as wall art after the wedding (money well spent, we say!)
3. It is made to last.
The whiskey barrel head is coated to prevent bleeding when guests sign with markers (tip: use these). It is also recommended you coat the barrel after guests sign it to ensure the signatures do not fade over time.
4. Each barrel is carefully laser engraved.
Quality craftsmanship is at the forefront of WhiskeyMade’s mission. Your barrel is engraved by a certified engraver and woodworking specialist to ensure it is of the highest-quality.
5. These are genuine reclaimed whiskey / bourbon barrels.
WhiskeyMade only uses barrels originally sourced from (and marked) by a Kentucky distillery (so you know it’s authentic).
There are many designs available to suit your wedding theme and style. Want more options? Just ask — custom orders are available.

What kind of markers to use
The best for wood are these ultra fine-point markers. I use them everywhere — wood, plastic, paper, etc. They never bleed and they are easy to write with, even in small spaces. You’ll probably want to put at least four out on a table for the night for guests to use. Two at a time, two additional in case the ink runs out (although it probably won’t).
