This Wilmington wedding in picturesque North Carolina is sure to inspire you! Lauren and Lars planned an outdoor ceremony and reception at a private residence on Shinn’s Point. Since Lauren and Lars both love water and nature, this was an ideal location to begin their lives together. For day-of coordination, they turned to Do Me A Favor Weddings who did a fantastic job. Behind the lens was Eric Boneske, who captured the day and all of the details beautifully. Lauren tells us… “Lars and I met at our alma mater North Carolina State University in the Masters of Accounting program (Go Pack!). We both share a love for the water that has only deepened since we moved to Wilmington. When we started wedding planning, an outdoor venue was top on our list to keep the wedding classy, but casual. We wanted our wedding to be a unique experience for those traveling from outside of Wilmington and the intracoastal waterway was the perfect spot. We chose Cardinal Pointe because of its vast space on the water, the beautiful live oak to get married under, and its uniqueness since it is not an advertised venue. The owners of the property were also very accommodating with letting us have as much time as our family and vendors needed for rehearsal and the wedding day. My advice if you are planning an outdoor venue is to start early! We were engaged for twenty months which gave us plenty of time to plan. My husband told me the night before the wedding, ‘Something is going to go wrong tomorrow. Just let it go and focus on enjoying the day.’ Everything came together perfectly for us as the relaxed, fun, and love-filled day we had hoped for.” That’s great advice! It sounds like their wedding went just as planned… let’s see how it unfolded, beginning with a sweet “first look” moment between the bride and groom. Enjoy!
