We thank featured photographer Neil Colton, based in Northern Virginia, for the detailed engagement story of Rob + Danielle.
Neil tells us their story:
“Rob + Danielle met in college, at Juniata, a small private college near Penn State. Danielle is an event coordinator and Rob is a web designer/programmer. They will be married on June 5th, 2010 at the Old House Vineyard in Culpeper, VA. It’s a beautiful venue, with an historic main house, a ‘wedding island’, a new reception pavilion, complete with dance floor and, of course, the vineyards.
Culpeper is a quaint historic town an hour and half out of DC, with wonderful architecture, trendy shops, edgy boutiques and great restaurants – one in the original 1700’s building with original interior, plus indoor plumbing. It’s one of the best kept secrets in DC.
This shoot began on the DC metro, in Northern VA, worked it’s way through Georgetown, along the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal, through Cady’s Alley, lunch at Dean & DeLuca, then on to M Street, the main drag in Georgetown, across the Francis Scott Key Bridge, then home on the metro.”
Neil has worked as a freelance photojournalist, documentary photographer and editorial shooter. He tells us, “I approach engagement sessions like an editorial shoot without rules… and for fun! It’s a brilliant way to get to know your clients and get them used to being the center of attention.”
