If you’d like to ask bridesmaids to be in your wedding, you’re going to love this set of bridesmaid illustration cards that Etsy artist HooplaLove is creating in her shop!
Before you propose to bridesmaids, don’t just jump at the chance to buy the first generic thing you see. You’ve seen those bridesmaid proposals have been done over and over again. Instead, make it more memorable with thoughtful bridesmaid proposal cards, like these. They’re mini works of art!
And that is because Kacey is a true artist in every sense of the word: her illustrated cards for bridesmaid proposals stand out from any others we’ve seen, especially when you want to make a true impact with a lasting card. Your words and sentiments inside are part of it, while the beautiful cover and custom, personalized details are the icing on top. :)
Let’s take a look!
Illustrated Bridesmaid Proposal Cards
This example set of illustrated proposal cards features a beachy background scene, with the bridesmaid and bride standing together and holding bouquets; they’re looking out into the ocean.
This scene is lovely; however, if you choose, you can customize it to a scene of your choosing. Your illustrated cards can be based on your invitation or wedding theme, a photo you have for inspiration, or, as she points out in the shop, “a personal scene or setting that has sentimental meaning between you and your bridesmaids”.
As one example, she has this custom beachy save the date in her shop that is similar to these proposal cards. Your illustrations, then, could be modeled after your save the date card: whether you’re in the mountains, in the woods, on the beach, at home, in a coffee shop, sports arena, brewery — anything!
We love how handmade goes above and beyond!
For my bridesmaids, I may have chosen a scene of where we met, how we became friends, or a favorite photo brought to life in brilliant watercolor illustration. My maid of honor was my sister, so maybe a favorite throwback photo of us would be ideal; a bridesmaid was my sister-in-law, so perhaps a favorite place we like to visit together; another bridesmaid was a friend I’ve known since 3rd grade, so us in our plaid jumpers and knee highs on the playgound would have been cute; and my final bridesmaid was a friend I met though Andrew’s friend and we used to go play trivia at breweries and go bowling together. :) And honestly, this beach scene is such a pretty idea, perhaps I would have asked for exactly this!
And how about that hand-lettering, you guys? I love the script writing choice and how it is personalized by name for each bridal party attendant.
These cards feature the bridesmaid and the bride, illustrated with your choice of hair color and style, skin color, and outfit selections to really resemble your images and likenesses. Instead of a card she’ll read and tuck away, we could see these illustrated bridesmaid cards being displayed in her office or at home in a pretty frame.
I know if I received one of these cards, I’d display it and smile whenever I saw it, thinking about the wedding day approaching or the memories I shared as a bridesmaid.
There are also other cards you can select such as a card for the Flower Girl, shown here:
