If you’re a bride with a free-spirited style and you want the perfect boho wedding veil, you’ve come to the right place! This Ask Emmaline question from bride-to-be, Nicole, will help you answer the same question. She wants to know about boho veil ideas for her wedding.
She writes,
“Hi Emmaline! I’m looking for boho wedding veil ideas. I wasn’t planning on wearing a veil but now I want to, although I want it to have more of a drapey or boho look versus a traditional veil style. Do you have any suggestions for non-traditional bridal veils? Thanks so much!”
Great question, Nicole! For a boho wedding veil, my go-to is a draped veil. It has a bohemian, free-spirited look and feel and is perfectly fitting for a bridal veil.
One of my favorite suggestions is a draped veil by Gilded Shadows. This type of veil is worn on either side of a low bun, chignon, or an updo so it drapes beautifully towards the center between the combs.
Draped Boho Veil
This draped veil is probably the most popular types of boho wedding veils right now. The chain and the crystal flowers — plus those elegant sparkly accents! — complete the look.
Here are two examples so can see how it drapes:
I like this veil for two reasons:
1.) It shows off your wedding day hairstyle, and
2.) It is a unique accessory piece
This isn’t your classic wedding veil; instead, it adds a little drama to your style.
Plus, it is handmade just for you and, really, does it get any better than that?! :)
You can choose from many different colors or lengths. It is shown in ivory; you can choose any color, plus any length from elbow (25″) all the way to cathedral (108″).

In addition to the draped boho wedding veil, here are two other boho wedding veil styles that you may also enjoy.
Gray Netted Veil
Another option? A birdcage with a neutral gray tone like this one. I love the way it is shaped to one’s face.
Retro Boho Veil
For more of a retro look, you could wear this tulle veil that covers your face and is short in length.
Boho Veil Alternative
And if you want to skip a veil altogether, you can! There are plenty of beautiful bridal veil alternatives the bride can wear instead. My favorite right now is this floral hair accessory for the bride:
