Do you wear two garters for your wedding or just one? We’re answering that question related to the garter toss today on Emmaline Bride. Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest straight to your inbox!
We’re answering an Ask Emmaline wedding question this morning to kick off your Friday! Bride-to-be Shelley asked us why brides buy two garters. The answer is simple — one garter is for the bride to wear, while the other is to be tossed at the reception. Technically, the bride wears both during the day, so the tossing garter is easily accessible when it’s time to toss it. You can usually purchase a set of two garters together, depending on where you buy, and typically you’ll find that the tossing garter is smaller and less detailed than the bridal garter.
And… if you don’t care about keeping your own as a keepsake, that’s fine, too! All you need to do is buy one, toss it, and be done with it. Simple as that! While we’re on the topic of garters, here are a few we recently spotted to inspire you…
