Hello, loves! We have a beautiful wedding decoration project for you today: how to make wedding chair flower decorations! Tina of Blooms By The Box is showing us how to make wedding aisle chair flowers with mason jars and fresh flowers. As you can see, this is an easy way to attach flowers to pews or chairs and decorate your wedding aisle.
PRO TIP: If outdoors and your venue does not offer chairs where it’s easy to hang these jars, we recommend using shepherds hooks like these. They can be placed along the aisle and the hanging mason jar flower vases can easily be added to them in a snap! They stake right into the ground and can be removed easily.
In this wedding DIY project, Tina shows you how to attach flower to wedding chairs with mason jars and wire. Who knew it was so easy?! She’ll show you how to add flowers and in which order, along with how to keep them hydrated for your wedding day.
These wedding aisle chair flowers are one of our favorite trends this year and can be used indoors or outdoors. You can use them on ALL the chairs along the aisle — or just save them for yours! You can also use them in addition to a “reserved” tag like this to highlight a reserved aisle at your ceremony.
Make sure you have someone bring them from the ceremony to your reception! You can use these wedding flower chair backs for your head table or sweetheart table. :)
If you want to get really busy with this project, you can make these as chair aisle decorations at your wedding, adding a mason jar vase to each chair along the aisle on both sides. (Or, one every-other chair to save a little money!) After the wedding, gift the jars to your family and friends.
Roll up your sleeves + let’s get started!
P.S. The benefit here? You can order EVERYTHING online and have shipped to your door! Now is a great time to complete a do-it-yourself project at home, so practice before the big day arrives and you’ll be a pro!

How to Attach Flowers to Wedding Chairs
The first part: wiring your mason jar! It’s easy!
Step 1 – Measure your wire around the neck of the mason jar. Add an extra 8 inches to be able to make two loops for hanging. Cut the wire. Make your first wire loop, leaving extra wire to the end. Twist tightly. (Below is a picture showing what you will make with the wire.)
Step 2 – Measure the wire (again on the neck of the top of the jar), making sure the loops are on opposite sides of the jar. Make your second loop.
Step 3 – Attach the wire to the mason jar. Twist wire tightly to secure around the mouth of the mason jar. Snip extra wire.
Step 4 – Place the ribbon through the first hoop and tie a knot leaving extra ribbon hanging. Loop around, leaving enough ribbon to hang from the chair. String through the second hoop; tie a knot. Cut the ribbon ends on an angle. Your hanger is complete!
Adding Flowers
Step 5 – Start by cutting your flower stems. Vary the stem lengths of the flowers. Cut rose stems approx. 8 ½-9”, cut carnation stems approx. 8”, cut Hydrangea stem 5 ½”-6”, and purple stock stems approx. 7-7 ½.” Remove the green leaves from the flower stems.
Step 6 – Place one blue hydrangea in the mason jar.
Step 7 – Add 4 faith roses around and intertwine through the flower blue hydrangea bloom.
Step 8 – Continue adding the Moonshade deep purple carnations.
Step 9 – Add the purple stock.
Step 10 – Last, add your myrtle greens. You can measure the length against the mason jar for height. I cut the myrtle greens for this centerpiece approx. 14”-15” long.
Step 11 – For a silver accent, add silver branches or Ting Ting. Cut to size. Add 3 inches of water in the jars to keep the flowers hydrated.
Hang the filled flower mason jars on the corner of the chair. Decorate your wedding ceremony chairs for indoors or outdoors!
Wow, what a beautiful ceremony decoration! I wish I knew how easy it was to make hanging aisle flowers when I got married! :) Thanks to Tina for this beautiful project.
