The easiest wedding or bridal shower favors are bags full of candy. Candy favors are a fan favorite because they are enjoyed by guests (not left collecting dust on a shelf for years to come). Candy favor bags are inexpensive to buy, as well as easy to make yourself. Today we’re sharing how to make wedding favor bags with quirky custom made stamps by Felicette. Enjoy!
How to Make Wedding Favor Bags
It’s easy to make wedding favor bags. First, you will need to choose the candy you will use to fill the bags.
1. Choose a candy.
You will want to do two things: 1) choose individually-wrapped candies and 2) buy in bulk to save money. My favorite place to buy candy in bulk is Amazon. (If you have a Prime account you will save money on shipping, too.) If you don’t have a Prime account, try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial and use it to buy your supplies and other DIY wedding things (like mason jars). Believe me, it will save you time and frustration, as well as some money. Win, win… win. As far as what kind of candy to put in your favor bags, some favorites include Hershey kisses, these mints, or these amazing salted caramels. If you are having an outdoor wedding, err on the side of caution and SKIP chocolate (or you will have melted chocolate everywhere). These M&Ms are a great choice, since they have a hard shell to coat the chocolate so it won’t melt. Other options include Starburst, salt water taffy, or a huge assortment of deliciousness. Pick something you really love and go from there.
2. Buy your bags.
You will need to buy blank cotton wedding favor bags. You should buy at least one per guest. These blank favor bags from Felicette (Etsy shop or website) are shown below and work well, given their 3″x5″ size. You can find them under “Stampables”.
3. Pick a stamp.
Choose a stamp that will go onto the bags. You will want to pick something that coordinates with your theme (i.e. a bicycle stamp for a bicycle themed wedding) or the season (pumpkins for the fall, snowflakes for winter weddings, etc.) Felicette offers many beautiful custom rubber stamps, even your names inside a heart! Here are some of our favorite stamps to use for wedding favor bags.
You can browse more stamps here.
4. Stamp away!
Use an ink pad to apply the stamp to the favor bag. Allow the ink on the bags to dry before filling them. Fill the bags with candy and seal them using the drawstring on the top.
