Hi, loves! Emma here and it is confession time: I’m obsessed with farmhouse style decor. And you’re probably not surprised, except that lately I’m really obsessed with finding the perfect custom established family sign for my home.

You see, there’s this set of French doors leading to the patio and there’s a gigantic empty space just begging to be decorated with a little something. A mirror? No. A vintage-y antique piece? Nope. A canvas art piece like this? While lovely, it is too large for the space. A custom established family sign with beautiful fonts and farmhouse-inspired Joanna Gaines style? OH YES.

You know the sign I’m talking about, it’s the farmhouse / distressed / “established in” signs you’ve been seeing everywhere, the signs you and I know Jojo herself would give a thumbs up to. But there’s a problem: I like so many too many of them! I find one, show it to Andrew, and think… that’s it! that’s the one! But in my usual ways, I browse a little more, dig a little deeper on Etsy, and then do you know what happens? Ah, yes: a new custom established family sign moves to the top of my list.

But this one… this one, you guys, is my new favorite. And perhaps the one I shall choose. The wooden farmhouse inspired frame, the distressed painted wood inside, the script writing in the center with the uppercase “established” date above it all contribute to this beautiful piece. And let’s not forget the best part: “it’s so good to be home”.

Andrew and I are celebrating our big 10 year anniversary this week — seriously, it feels like yesterday, time flies when you’re having fun! — and seeing this established family sign made me think of all of you, how you’re excitedly planning your wedding and picking out things for your dream registry, imagining how you’ll decorate your home together. We moved our family into a new (very old) house last year and we’re taking time to really turn it into a home.
