While planning your wedding, you’re posed with dozens of details from dress shopping, booking a venue and selecting your menu. We know that the bridal gown is at the top of most to-do lists, but what will your groom wear? If you’re not sure where to start, fear not – our friends at Men’s Wearhouse are here to help! They stay up-to-date on the latest styles and wedding trends so his attire is an easier to-do to tackle. To help, we’ve compiled five tuxedo tips every groom should know before he starts shopping. Read on to see which tuxedo tips made the list…
Tuxedo Tips
1. Choose a rental place that’s convenient for groomsmen.
It’s likely that your groomsmen (and wedding party) live in various cities – maybe even states. If you find a tuxedo store that offers a large network, renting will be more convenient for everyone. For example, Men’s Wearhouse offers over 900 locations and a large network. This means your best man, for example, can be fitted for his tuxedo near his home, yet return it to a shop closer to the wedding location after the reception. Convenience is key!
2. Make sure you get the groom’s tux for free.
Did you know that many tuxedo places offer the groom’s tuxedo for FREE when you rent other tuxes at the same location? It’s true – and we’ve found that Men’s Wearhouse does one better. You can register and save $30 off each tuxedo AND get the groom’s tux for free on five or more rentals.
3. Pick a tuxedo that suits his style – and your theme.
With designers on board like Vera Wang, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren, your groom will look stylish from ceremony to reception. Men’s Wearhouse offers designer tuxedos to ensure the quality is of the highest standard, while staying up-to-date with the latest styles (as well as classic, timeless tuxes).
4. Get custom color options.
When you’re selecting groomsmen attire, remember to complement your color palette! You never have to worry about availability of the latest trending colors at Men’s Wearhouse. They have a carefully-selected palette of colors for every season; their palettes even match those at David’s Bridal to ensure your bridesmaid dresses coordinate perfectly with the groomsmen attire.
5. Build-A-Tux online!
Get your groom involved in the process! With the Build-A-Tux tool, he can get creative with over 2,000 style and color combinations before walking in a store to try it on.
Win a $100 Gift Card!
June is the best time to check tuxedos off the wedding planning list! 1,000 lucky brides will win a $100 iTunes gift card when they rent tuxedos by Father’s Day (June 16). The prize is perfect for picking out that fine father-daughter dance song or pumping up the DJ’s set list with reception-rousing tunes.

This is great to know – I had no idea about the build-a-tux and that grooms should get theirs free.
Sukey,
Agreed! The Build-A-Tux is an awesome feature! I was unaware of the free tux promotion at most rental places until I planned my own wedding. When I went into a store, I saw they had the promo; I realized most tuxedo places off this, too. I wish all couples knew – it ends up being quite a nice amount of savings for the couple. And, saving money on weddings is always a plus.
Thanks for stopping by!
