What is a Tie Bar?
First, let’s answer the obvious question. What is a tie bar? A tie bar, also known as a tie clip, is a metal clip used to fasten a tie together. A tie bar keeps a neat, polished appearance by keeping the tie from moving around. A tie bar fastens the front part of the tie to the back and it fastens both ends to the placket of your shirt. To look its best, a tie bar should be worn between the third and fourth buttons of a formal shirt. Also, a tie bar should never be wider than the width of the tie. A tie bar is a fantastic finishing touch for him to wear down the aisle (and beyond).
