When guests arrive at your wedding venue, what is the first thing guests will notice? Your tables! Today, we’re showing you how to decorate wedding tables with ease to ensure they are properly dressed to the 9’s and brimming with handmade wedding charm. For inspiration, we’ll be using this wedding table as an example and sharing with you using five easy-to-follow guidelines. Read on to find out more!
Isn’t it lovely?
To decorate wedding tables, keep these five easy tips in mind:
1. Accentuate the positive.
In this example, the already gorgeous chairs are left untouched in order to allow their true beauty to shine through. No need to add chair sashes to these beauties. For your wedding tables, consider what you love best. Is the natural wood grain already pretty on its own? Don’t cover it up with a tablecloth! You get the idea. Use the same idea while trying to hide imperfections: cover up tattered tables and chairs with lush linens and full chair covers, etc.
2. Less is More.
The principle of less is more has never been more true in decoration than with reception decor. In this example, the large centerpieces are bold enough to make a statement; however, since they are raised high, guests can chat or gaze across the room with ease.
3. Play with Color.
Select your color palette for your wedding early in the planning process. This will ensure your wedding colors are tied together cohesively throughout the entire event. This palette features a soft green, purple (accented with darker purple in the table linen), and ivory. The dinner napkins, for example, are a dark purple with damask to provide plenty of pattern and a pop of color to tie into your palette.
4. Texturize.
Add bold textures to your decor to tie into your theme. For instance, rustic weddings commonly utilize burlap. In this example, a burlap table runner accentuates the center of the table while providing texture in a complementing shade (cream). Another example we love is lace, which is versatile and adds a feminine touch.
5. Add Handmade, Personal Touches.
One of the reasons we love handmade weddings is the ability to personalize every aspect of your day. Your wedding table is no exception; a simple set of linens, monogrammed table runner, or candles with your monogram can add a more personal yet subtle touch to your day. Guests will definitely take notice!

I love the burlap, too. The ruffle edges makes it look so unique – definitely feminine like you said without being too frilly.
