This garland table runner is easy to make… let’s get started!
Greenery Table Runner
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to make a greenery table runner in a few easy steps. See the supplies below, followed by photos of how to complete the table runner. The final photo is listed at the end of this project.
First, gather up your supplies! Here’s an easy shopping list of everything you need — including floral wire and tape!
SUPPLIES
– Italian Ruscus
– Green Ivy
– Tree Fern
– Seeded Eucalyptus
– Cream Dahlias
– Cool Water Roses
– Pink Carnations
– Purple Wax Flower
– White Spider Mums
– Floral Scissor
– Floral Wire
– Floral Tape
Step 1 – Layout your greenery on your table. Lay out 4 stems of greenery and bundle together. Secure them together with floral wire. Make 3-4 bundles that will be wired together in step 2.
Step 2- Cut stems at the bottom of each bundle.
Step 3- Overlap the bundles approximate 2-3 inches and secure them with floral wire to make the garland the length you desire.
Step 4- Cut pieces of seeded eucalyptus to wire to the Italian Ruscus to give your garland texture. Wire seeded eucalyptus throughout the garland giving it a natural flow.
Step 5- Cut the flower stems 6 inches. Then wire 2-4 flowers together at the top of the stem with floral wire creating posies.
Step 6- Cut flower stems as needed. Wire the flower posies along the garland. Place and wire them to look natural and secure the flowers to the greenery.
Step 7 – When placing the flowers in the garland, take a step back to make sure they are eventually spaced. It is important to have an overview of the garland.
Tree Fern Sprigs
Step 8 – Cut sprigs of tree fern. Add pieces of tree fern to your garland for a wispy texture.
Step 9 – Wire 4-5 pieces of green ivy to the end of the garland to drape on the ends of the table.
Final Step- Look at all sides of the garland from different angles. Check to make sure it is full from all angles, and flowers are evenly placed. Cascade both ends of the garland to hang.
*Tip- Make the garland the day before your event. Keep it moist for rehydration. Keep your flower posies in vases filled with water until you are ready to add them to your garland. Add the flowers when you’re ready to layout your garland on the table.
