Ooey-gooey marshmallow, chocolate, and a crunchy graham cracker… what more could you want in delicious s’mores wedding favors?! :)
Emma here and I am a s’mores -oholic. When we go camping, I’m the first with the marshmallow bag. I keep those bars of Hershey chocolate at my table, sneaking a bit of chocolate between bites of delightful s’mores.
And if you love this delicious snack as I do, you’ll be happy to hear just how easy it is to make s’mores wedding favors for guests to take home (or eat as a midnight snack).
Some wedding receptions even offer s’mores bars, where guests take turns roasting marshmallows on these, then pick out their own toppings. (Sounds delicious to me!) If you’d rather go the easy route with less sticky, gooey messes, here’s how to make s’mores wedding favors, to-go!
S’mores Wedding Favors
Here is how to make s’mores wedding favors. We’re going to make traditional s’mores in this post: marshmallow, graham cracker, chocolate bars, tag, bag. That’s easy enough, right? But, feel free to add your own twist.
I once heard of someone using a Reese’s peanut butter cup instead of the chocolate bar and they said, to quote, “It will change your life”. That’s a bit dramatic, and I have yet to try it, but I’ll report back after my first camping trip this year. :)
Let’s get to it!
1. S’mores favor tags
You simply cannot make s’mores wedding favors that look so beautiful WITHOUT these tags! You can get them at Crossvine Designs and edit the template quickly + easily with Heather’s help. She has a beautiful assortment of tags in different fonts, styles, and colors.
Here are a few of the most popular s’mores tags.
The website tells you how to edit the s’mores tags and what kind of paper to use. All you need to do is print them out and punch a hole at the top. Then set aside because you’re about to sample some chocolate bars. :)
2. Bulk Hershey’s chocolate bars
You’ll want to buy chocolate bars… and lots of ’em! I mean, you have to sample a little bit just to make sure it tastes good, so no harm in buying a little extra. ;) When you buy these bars in bulk, you’ll save money, so there’s a win-win there. Buy chocolate bars in bulk here.
3. Bulk graham crackers
You’ll also want to buy good quality graham crackers in bulk. These tend to get stale quickly when out of the box, so these fresh stacks are a good way to combat this as you’re assembling your s’mores favors. Besides, they’re by Honey Maid and I think that’s the best brand; so delicious! Buy in bulk here.
4. Marshmallows
You need marshmallows, and you need them to be large, tasty, and fresh! These are my go-to marshmallows: Jet-Puffed by Kraft. The bags always end up super sticky around the campfire. :) However, they are easy to use for assembly of these and will make your s’mores favors look nice and full. Buy a huge bulk order here.

5. Cellophane treat bags
Make sure you buy cellophane treat bags that are food-safe and large enough to fit the s’mores ingredients inside. Here’s where to buy your bags: they’re very affordable and come with ties for closure (and to keep the air out).
6. Gold and white cotton baker’s twine
When you make your tags, print them out, and hole punch them out, you’ll use this twine to tie the tags to your bags. Get it here in a big, beautiful roll for all of your crafting needs.
Make S’mores Favors
Here’s how to put together your s’mores wedding favors.
First, open the cellophane bag and place the ingredients in this order: one graham cracker, one bar of chocolate, two marshmallows, one graham cracker, and then tie the bag tightly with twine or with bread ties (they come with the bags we mentioned here). Once you’ve closed the bags securely, you’re going to thread that cotton twine through the punched favor tag and tie it to the favor bag.
Done, and done!
Now, you’ll just need to make about… oh, 100+ of them. But do it while you watch some fun tv and time will pass by quickly! Time flies when you’re snacking on s’mores anyway, am I right? :)
After you’ve assembled your favors, store them in a cool, dry, dark place. If you are planning a summer wedding, keep them in air conditioning on very hot days because this chocolate will MELT. You can always make them just a few days ahead of the wedding or bridal shower, just in case.
Display S’mores Wedding Favors
At your wedding, choose a table where you’ll place the favors or put a s’mores wedding favor at each guest’s seat.
If you’re placing them in a large stack or on a separate table, use a sign like this (also available from Crossvine Designs).
And that’s it!
If you’re making s’mores wedding favors for your guests, feel free to send samples! Just kidding. Have fun with it!
