How to Layer Necklaces

1. Space ’em out

Allot approximately 1.5″ between each necklace for a clean, pulled-together look.

If you’re wearing a heavier chain, keep in mind that the heavier necklaces will hang lower than the others. For instance, if you’re wearing a very short necklace with a longer one, keep in mind it will need enough weight to hold its own.

3. Order of Layers

When you’re layering necklaces of varying heights, the longest necklace is added first as the bottom layer. The shortest necklace, then, would be the last necklace you add so it lays at the top.

According to Redbook, it’s okay to “break all the old fashion rules [such as wearing] silver with gold” and mixing delicate chains with chunky beads.
