You want a guestbook alternative that is fun, totally on-trend, and home-decor ready. Good! We found it: the globe guest book. Read on to find out how it works (spoiler: it’s totally easy and stress-free!) While you’re here, join our newsletter for fun tips + new giveaways!
I love it when we find fun and easy guest book alternatives. A fun twist on a guest signature book is great in theory, but most of the time it only adds another 10 tasks to your list of long to-dos: source the right markers, cut out small leaves, figure out where to get thumbprint ink, find the right kind of glue dots, or even instruct people to take photos and add them to a pinboard, etc. Those little tasks can take time away from other projects you’re feeling behind on already. And while we don’t mind a little extra work for fun alternatives, this idea is simple + straightforward: the globe guest book.
Instead of a regular flip-through-it-and-sign-it book with binding, a guest book globe — aka globe guest book or even guest globe — adds an element of decor to your wedding and afterward at home. Instead of signing on a dotted line or a page inside a book, guests sign directly onto your globe in a place they like, have traveled, or to where they think YOU should travel. And whenever you need an idea of where to go on your next trip, just give it a spin! :)
Fun idea, right? It is especially perfect for a travel themed wedding!
And now when you’re starting to think, okay, now where do I get a globe? How do people sign it? How will they get the idea? That’s where it gets easy: just head to TheLetteringStudio. Barbara is the expert when it comes to wedding globes and she has the prettiest hand-lettering.
Guest Book Globe
Step one: get a globe! You can choose from three different sizes in the shop, based on your guest list size. We recommend going larger to accommodate more signatures if needed.
Choose any style you like best to complement your wedding decor + home decor because, after the big day, you’ll admire your globe as a permanent fixture in your space with signatures from your favorite people. As you can see, each globe can look slightly different based on the wording, color of marker she uses, or the style of guest globe you select.
She personalizes your wedding globe with your names and date, along with: “Our Adventure Begins”.
Guest Globe Sign
To make this even easier for you (and your guests), you can get the sign at the same time. She creates a shop that ready, “Please sign our guest globe” in an equally-pretty, hand-lettered look to match the same style of the globe.
(Want a gold frame like that? We found a similar one here.)
How Do Guests Sign Onto The Globe?
Your wedding guests can sign directly onto the globe with a special marker, which is available in the same shop. Just add it to your order for a few dollars more (it is listed as an option to “add-on” when you order).
Is a Globe Guest Book Better Than A Regular One?
It depends! If you like the style, then go for it! If you prefer a traditional guest book, then that’s great, too. I think it is best to find the right style to suit your wedding style. I am a firm believer that every wedding ought to have a guest sign-in of some sort, whether simple or elaborate. It is a nice keepsake to have from your wedding with actual signatures from your family and friends.
You’ll be surprised how happy you’ll be looking back on it, as we are with our little book!
And there you have it: no stress, no fuss — all thanks to The Lettering Studio! Check out the shop here to get yours.
Okay, that’s it, a globe guest book at our 15 year anniversary it is! Since I missed out on this for our wedding. ;)
