For save the dates, you may realize you forgot to include a guest on the list, and you can quickly remedy the issue by sending one you have as a backup.
Printing Issues
Sometimes, although rarely, there is a printing issue on a card or several, so a few backup save-the-dates are good to have on hand.

It can happen, so it’s not a bad thing to have a few extras, just in case.

Con: Extra Cards = Extra Costs
There is only one drawback to ordering extras: the cost. Although it may be incremental, adding more to your budget when you’re not 100% sure you’ll utilize the extra copies can be a deterrent for some. And that’s OK! It’s important to keep your eye on that wedding budget and spend it however it fits best.
With that being said, though, having extras may actually benefit your budget. If you decide you need a few cards at the last minute, you typically need to order a minimum quantity which may cost more than adding in a few extras to your original order.
And there you have it! Sometimes, it pays off having a few extras in your wedding binder.
