Bride-to-be Sidney wrote us about this unique, very specific question and we couldn’t wait to swoop in to answer it. She is picking out her invitations for her wedding and wants to know about a particular style: wedding invitations that open up. She writes,
“Hi Emmaline! I’m wondering where to get invitations that open up. I saw them on Pinterest but now I can’t locate exactly what to search in order to find them again. The wedding invitations have all of the parts together and you open it up as one main piece. I think the RSVP card is attached and the bottom and removable. If you can help, I would appreciate it. Thanks!”
Hey, Sidney! Great question and yes, I know exactly the type of invitation to which you’re referring. If you’re looking for wedding invitations that open up, they’re also known as all-in-one invitations or some refer to them as tri-fold invitations.
This type of invitation is very helpful because it includes all pieces in one; as you mentioned, the RSVP card is located at the bottom as you mentioned and is connected with perforation. Guests fill out the card, remove it, and slip it into the mail because it is a postcard (brilliant — no envelope!) Since you add the postage to the RSVP card before mailing invitations to guests, they slip the response card into the mailbox easily, no need to search for their own personal stamps to use. :)
You’ll love invitations that open up to reveal the enclosures, main invitation card, and any extra information for guests, as it is more affordable than standard wedding invitations. In addition, you do not need an outer envelope (what?!) as it folds into itself to create its own outer envelope.
This is, putting it mildly, brilliant, as it saves you money and so much paper when you think about it. No envelope? No RSVP envelope? Postcard stamp vs. a standard stamp on the response cards? I love everything about these wedding invites that open up and I’m happy to say I found exactly where you can get them.
