“Romantic winter wedding in the city” was the theme to this stunning wedding. Anne Marie and Brian’s romantically themed wedding in Boston was held at the First Church in Boston with ceremony at Hilton’s Doubletree Suites. Their wedding included beautiful DIY elements crafted by themselves, family, and friends. Amanda from Boro: Creative Visions was able to capture Anne Marie and Brian’s wedding in great detail, providing us with a story-tale imagery of that day. The bride, Ann Marie, tells us more about their theme, her advice for future brides, and her favorite wedding moment after the jump…
A Romantic Winter Wedding in the City
Ann Marie says, “Our theme was ‘A Romantic Winter Wedding in the City.’ My mom and I made all the bouquets and boutonnieres, the centerpieces, invitations, ceremony programs, the guestbook, the door hangers, and the snow globe place cards with photos. She also made my veil, the table runners and embroidered all the napkins with a “B.” I painted all the table numbers and my husband helped out by painting all the easels they stood on. For the bouquets, my mom hand-spun the silk roses and we filled them with old brooches, earrings, buttons, and crystals. The centerpieces were a combination of battery-powered lit branches and some real branches from my parent’s backyard, in a vase filled with coffee beans (since Brian and I both love coffee so much). They were adorned with just a few crystals. Two of my bridesmaids and I put the candy table together with vases and cake stands we already had. Some of the candy was purchased, some was made by one of my wonderful bridesmaids, and the cookies were made by my mother. It truly was a group effort to make the many details of our wedding so personal.”

“What’s my advice for future brides? My best advice is to spend the most money, time, and effort on the things that are most important to you and don’t stress about the things you care less about. Since I’m allergic to flowers, we decided to skip them altogether and make our own bouquets and centerpieces. And since our ceremony and reception were only three miles apart, we skipped a limo and took the hotel shuttle for free. We loved the way our modern church looked without any decorations, so we skipped ceremony decorations altogether! Instead, we prioritized having great food and great music as well as hiring an amazing photographer. That way everyone had a blast, and now we have gorgeous photos to preserve all the details and happy memories from our special day!”
“My favorite moment of the day was our “first look” on the roof of the hotel. I had been really calm all morning, but the moments leading up to seeing Brian in his tux and him seeing me in my gown were just so exciting. When he turned around and smiled at me I just couldn’t hold back a few happy tears. After all the planning, we were finally getting married!”
“The bridesmaid’s gifts included their pashminas, purses (by 1154 Lill Studio), and earrings (made by a friend of my mother’s).”
“Brian’s favorite moment of the day was taking photos in Copley Square and being interviewed for Channel 4 news. Not many people can say they were on the news on their wedding day!”

The color palette is gorgeous!!!
Her blue sweater is such a pretty way to tie in the something blue idea… love the dessert bar, too.
Those cupcakes look scrumptious… so wish I could take a bite.
