Rachel and Matthew’s Bentonville Arkansas wedding has plenty of great details. Their wedding this past October was at the Avondale Chapel and Gardens and included tons of wedding accessories, pretty flowers, a stunning burlap and lace aisle runner, and more. It was captured by Kaity from Photo Love Photography. Learn more about their wedding from the bride and see the photos after the click…
Bentonville Arkansas Wedding
Rachel tells us, “Our story is a little unusual. We were both born and raised in Illinois. Our mothers worked together and were very good friends; when my mother and father eloped, Matt’s parents were the witnesses for the court, my mom was a bridesmaid in Matt’s parent’s wedding. Eventually, Matt’s family moved to Arkansas, and several years later, my family ended up here as well. We hadn’t seen each other in years, and when I left work one night, there was Matt waiting for me. The rest is history!”
Overall Inspiration + Colors: “That was HARD! We started wanting one thing, and that slowly morphed into something completely different. We loved the soft colors with pops here and there. My dress had a lace overlay, so we tried to incorporate lace elements anywhere we could.”
Personal Touches + Unique Details: “I made my garter and hair piece, and my aunt made our aisle runner and assembled our centerpieces. We LOVE Mexican food, so we had to include that! My mom, my friends, and I made our wedding punch together—it took a few tries to get it just right!”
What one detail truly made the wedding yours? “Getting married outside, underneath the tree, at sunset. Our ceremony was short and sweet.”
Customized Wedding: “My family and I did a lot of the decorations ourselves. My aunt made our aisle runner and arranged our centerpieces, my cousin made fabric flowers to decorate with, and we had custom can coolers that I designed made. I handmade the streamers that we decorated with, my hairpiece, and my garter. We wrote our own vows, which made our wedding a little different from others.”
Money Saved: “By doing many things myself and recruiting friends and family to help! Our venue was almost all inclusive, so that helped save a lot. I kept track of where we were spending and had to really think about what I HAD to have, and what I could live without.”
Highlights and Mishaps: “Things went relatively smoothly. We got done getting ready early and arrived at Avondale early. One thing I think most people missed was when we were walking down the aisle after being married. It poured the day before the wedding, so when we stepped off the sidewalk, into the mud, I almost fell. Matt saved the day!”
