This weekend we’re featuring a lovely handmade wedding! Their love story and wedding day was captured by Connecticut wedding Robin Dini, from Robin Dini Photography.
Robin tells us,
“Julia and Matt met at Julia’s 16th costume birthday party in their hometown of Cheshire, CT. Ironically, she dressed as Juliet. After dating through high school, they moved to Boston for their respective art school careers and parted. They reunited in 2007 and Matt proposed to Julia in Davis Square, Boston. Their wedding was an orchestration of many childhood memories together with their new lives today. For this reason, Julia and Matt styled their wedding by focusing on the celebration of family and friends, their history, and the timelessness of love. Julia wore her prom shoes! They created a memory table featuring a scrapbook of old photos, surrounded by framed pictures of their parents and grandparents on their wedding days.
Both working artists, they chose their color palette to reflect the warmth of spring, the CT seaside, and a fresh twist on vintage. Their palette: pearls and champagne, peaches, silver and pool blue. They worked with other artists to keep the details personal and handmade. Julia sketched and designer friend Abigail, of Gloaming Designs, handcrafted her airy-white headpieces. For the girls, she and Etsy crafter, Morgan of Little Lovelies designed long stranded pearl necklaces with antique blooms. They worked with illustrator friend and letterpress guru, Emily Goodale, on the invitations. Church programs were designed and stitched by friends, Liz and Gareth Leifheit. Old-time jazz played through the afternoon. It was a day to unite two hearts, two families, and “something old” with “something new”.”
