This Maleficent wedding fantasy is bound to strike a chord with the cool fearless bride lurking in some of you. The fictional character Maleficent is the main foe in Walt Disney’s 1959 film Sleeping Beauty. This self identified “Mistress of All Evil” has just found love and become a bride. Maleficent’s wedding fantasy is a styled shoot put together by the photography team from BG Productions, Papertini, and several other amazing vendors and friends. Now that you’ve been teased, read on and look at how this wedding fantasy was created…
Maleficent Wedding Fantasy
Cathie from BG Productions tells us, “I think this is just the kind of stylized shoot brides would enjoy. It is new, and fresh and black wedding dresses are ALL over the run ways!”
“Our Maleficent represents a fearless, confident bride. She is elegant, sexy, bold and gorgeous with a touch of edge (with a great interpretation of Maleficent’s horns!) and Alexis, our model did her own makeup.”
“Three different black dresses were chosen for her because, why just stick with one if you can have three? Her ceremony dress was an elegant ball gown layered with lace and tulle that was beautifully hand-tailored by Jennifer Kohler Designs. Page Six…it’s haute provided the fun and gorgeous reception and dancing dress.”
“The colors scheme chosen are Green, Gold with a touch of Dark Purple & Red. The invitation, program book, and menu cards, by Golden Silhouette are accented with gold threads to complete their interpretation of the spinning wheel.”
“The gold cake was subtly decorated and accented with a black feather as an homage to Maleficent’ crow. The cake was accompanied by two matching mini cakes (which, by the way, is a great idea for couple’s cakes or as alternative to cupcakes).”
“We wanted to showcase a beautiful side to a “darker” themed wedding. Black wedding dresses were all over the runway this year and that fit perfectly into our vision. A more matte style of photography was chosen to show off all those rich colors and edgy wedding style!”

This is so different – I love it!
Glad you liked it! I can’t decide my favorite photo… so much thought and creativity went into this entire shoot. I love the shots with the famous ‘mirror’. Oh, that Maleficent; one classic villainess!
