Shannon tells us,
“Sarah is a wedding planner in the making – she just doesn’t know it! Of all the brides I have worked with she takes the cake for being the most organized and the most on top of all of her wedding details. She planned this event on her own with the focus being on family, friendship and love. Although the couple now lives in Buffalo they chose to host their wedding weekend in the area that they once called home – Saratoga Springs, New York. The wedding venue was a stunning historical building set in the middle of a public park downtown. During the early 1900’s Saratoga was a destination for the wealthy and this building is a gorgeous structure with ornate design details, lush draperies, and a stain glass ceiling over the entire reception room that lights up from the outside park lights at night.
I hope you will love their story and the images from their wedding as much as I do!
Although the groom’s cake was a real hit, the real stars of the show were the adorable little flower girl and ring bearer. These two were hams for the camera – he with his funny expressions and she for her cute princess-like look. She even wore a tiny tiara throughout the reception!
Instead of traditional table numbers the guest tables were each labeled with a favorite location that the bride and groom have visited in their time together as a couple.
Sarah and Ryan went with a French Country feel with their design and decor, and chose a color palette of pale pink, cream, and gold. The bride and groom sat as a sweetheart table with rose colored fine china and a small wedding cake on an elevated tray just for the two of them.
This was one of three total cakes in the room, as the couple had an elegant tiered wedding cake for their guests that was decorated with sugar flowers and rose colored ribbons.
The centerpieces were a collection of soft roses set in antiqued urns that perfectly matched the gold Chivari chairs and the accents throughout the room. Gold trimmed menu cards listed one delicious course after another, all skillfully and deliciously prepared by the catering staff.
As if that wasn’t enough, the bride surprised her groom with an amazing groom’s cake in the shape of all some of his favorite Buffalo area things – Labatt Blue beer bottles and Buffalo chicken wings. It honestly looked so real that no one believed that it was actually a cake!
The guests packed the dance floor all night as the DJ kept the party rocking late into the evening. Sarah and Ryan got exactly what they wanted from their wedding as their friends and family celebrated their love and their union all on this very special day.”

Grooms cake was done outside of Buffalo, NY at a great place called Dessert Deli. http://www.dessertdelibakery.com/ I would know – I’m the groom.
We actually transferred in in our car from Buffalo to Saratoga with not a scratch! Not sure who would do one locally near Albany… Anyone?
And I had no vision at all, and it turned out so perfect for me also. They both did a beautiful job.
I love the grooms cake! Who made it?
Beautiful photos! You learn so much from planning a wedding…I’m glad she had everything organized and got to see her vision come true at the end!
