Today we’re sharing a gorgeous Bellamy Mansion wedding in downtown Wilmington! But before we get started, we have to share the story of how this couple met.
It sounds like it came from a romantic comedy! Vanessa tells us,
“I was sitting at my gate at Wilmington International Airport at 6:30 am, reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and Seth came and sat a few chairs diagonally across from me. From this moment on, I was only faking to read! I could not concentrate, as we kept staring awkwardly at each other making eye contact here and there. As we boarded the plane, Seth got in line behind me. My heart was racing with butterflies. I sat down in my seat on the plane and turned to see Seth standing there as he said, “I think that’s my seat…” pointing to the window seat, with a smile on his face. I responded, “No it’s not!” and we both laughed. In a two-seater row, there we were, just the two of us… and we talked the entire flight! We hit it off so seamlessly and discovered that we only lived a few miles apart from each other! At the end of the flight, Seth asked for my number and the rest is history!”
So, what happened next? They fell in love, he popped the question, and they wed in a rustic setting at Bellamy Mansion! And we’re thrilled to share their beautiful day with you with photos and a video captured by Chris Lang Photography. In the video, you’ll see the day from start to finish including getting ready, the First Look, and a perfectly choreographed First Dance. Don’t miss it!
Real Weddings – Bellamy Mansion
The Wedding
Vanessa and Seth chose a mix of themes which blended together seamlessly, linking a traditional, 1920’s Gatsby feel with rustic touches throughout. They chose red roses, sunflowers, tin bucket centerpieces, burlap table runners, and lace and wooden table numbers; Edison bulb lights were strung outdoors to illuminate the space. Tree branches were embellished with soft white feathers, which had been dipped in sparkly gold paint. Throughout their ceremony and reception you’ll find tons of handmade details including mason jars, an old typewriter with a romantic love quote typed out, a Polaroid guest book, peacock feathers, elegant white candles, and more…
