This wedding dress was trashed! Brittany and Mario’s West Virginia trash the dress session was a blast. This couple married this past July and decided a “trash the dress” was just what was needed after Brittany’s dress suffered a blue icing accident during the reception. They worked with their wedding photographer, Olivia, from Liv Hefner Photography to put together a photo session that was artistic, fun, and a little colorful. Meet Brittany and Mario and see the paint fly after the click…
West Virginia Trash the Dress
Their photographer Olivia tells us, “It’s rare a photographer finds a client who is completely on board with an artistic vision – especially when the vision starts with, ‘I want to cover you in paint.’ It’s even more rare to find someone who not only says, ‘Sure!’ but also says, ‘Can we also play in the water, and don’t worry about finding the paint – I have all sorts of ideas!'”
“To kick off their session, we met at a lovely creek in Parkersburg, WV. The session started with some formals of Brittany and Mario in their wedding attire on the wooded banks of the creek. The Batman-themed boutonniere, headband and garter were all handmade creations of the bride. When we moved down into the creek, we continued with some – what I’ll call – ‘formal trashing’. We kept the traditional wedding style portraiture going, but they cuddled in the creek and on some lovely logs that had fallen in. Brittany also took some time for some bridal shots while she braved the cool creek waters in her wedding gown –she even splashed around for a few.”
“After our time at the creek, we moved to a beautiful open spot with trees providing some needed shade. That’s when things got messy, fun and colorful. The two started with powdered paint, throwing it everywhere. By the end of the first round, they were both covered in neon colors – it was amazing. Brittany and Mario wasted no time moving onto the wet paint and throwing it all over each other (lovingly, of course.)”
“At the end of our time together, the two cuddled up and we were able to get a few more colorful shots. This couple was beyond amazing and so wonderfully in love. Whether Brittany was wiping teal paint through her hair or Mario was trying to get powdered paint from his mouth, they laughed, played and loved the entire time.”
The bride, Brittany, tells us, “I met up with Olivia from Liv Hefner Photography for our Trash the Dress session. Luckily, Olivia saved the day and gave us post-wedding portraits to die for. After adventuring into a very cold creek it was time to throw paint, the event I was beyond excited for. After our glorious paint fight, I left beyond happy and in the greatest mood. Olivia made the session feel effortless and the photographs are breathtaking.”
