Posted July 30, 2012 by EmmalineBride | ♥ 6 Comments - Leave a Comment!

When you see wedding ceremonies, what inspires you? Is it the emotional couple, the unique aisle decor that catches your eye, or maybe the venue itself? One of my favorite wedding day details is the ceremony backdrop and today we’re talking about the best, most inspiring ceremony backdrops we’ve seen yet. If you’re handy, many of these ceremony backdrops are DIY-able; or, as always, keep a sharp eye out for talented artisans who are ready to help you create the ideal backdrop for your particular ceremony. We’ve gathered up the best of the best from around the web and narrowed it down to seven of our favorite ceremony backdrops. Prepare to be inspired!

7 Most Inspiring Ceremony Backdrops

#1: Something Blue

Ah, something blue: a cooling, calming color to soothe your wedding day nerves. This particular backdrop is reminiscent of the ocean and is a welcome change of pace from the traditional neutral color palette. The birds are a whimsical addition.

#2: Heart Backdrop

This is one of my all-time favorite ceremony backdrops. It was designed by the lovely Jesi Haack FOR THE COUPLE. Incredible, right? We love Jesi’s photography and her mad design skills. Take a peek…

Whether you have a favorite song, want to illustrate your vows, or have a poem you absolutely love, this ceremony backdrop will turn it into wedding day design.

#4: All Dressed Up in White

For ceremony backdrops in white, this is one of our favorites. It incorporates white balloons while embodying a wedding-worthy sense of style.

#5: Curtains + Wood Molding

This is one of those ceremony backdrops that reminds me of home interior design dubbed wedding decor. It is created with a pair of curtain panels each pulled to the side and tied; it is displayed along with wood molding crafted to form almost a window-frame appearance. Love.

#6: Ribbons

Using TONS of ribbons may take a bit of work, but the result? A kiss like this…

Remember… some ceremony locations are almost too gorgeous to cover up! For wedding ceremonies on the beach or in the woods), let Mother Nature do the heavy lifting!

Happy Planning!

The first one is by far the one that inspires me the most.
Mine was very green: In the backyard of my in-laws, just a lot of Vermont’s green trees behind us.
