Welcome back from the loooong holiday weekend! Emma here and today we’re talking about how to decorate with paper garland and flowers in our first kickoff post of the week — and start of the fall wedding season. One of the topics / questions we field quite often from you, our dear readers, is how to decorate a blank space, empty wall, backdrop area, etc. There are many great ideas out there, but sometimes the Pinterest-worthy finds can be really hard to replicate.
However, decorating with paper garland and flowers is one of the easiest ways to spruce up an empty space, even for beginners. If you want to create a professional looking mantle, ceremony backdrop, wedding cake table decoration, or embellish any area of your reception, you’ve come to the right place. In this post, we’re sharing our favorite paper garland and flowers from paper flower expert, Paper Kat Designs, designer of the prettiest paper peonies, paper garland, and banners. Kat is so passionate about her work and it really shows; take a look and prepare to be inspired!
Paper Garland + Flowers
From paper garland to large paper peonies, this shop has it all. Need something custom-made? Just ask! She’s happy to create something perfect for your event.
Choose paper garland first
First, you start with strands of paper leaf garland. These leaf examples feature three colors: parakeet (a brighter green), forest (a darker green), or white.
You can also choose magnolia leaf garland, if you prefer.
Add paper flowers
Then, add paper flowers! Here is a paper daisy as one example.
This paper garland and pink flower combination is my favorite for a head table decoration. The paper flowers are designed with a clothespin on the back for easy addition to the paper garland. Add many flowers in the same color, different shades, or varying sizes to really mix up your look.
Here’s an example of paper garland created with bold, large paper flowers in a variety of sizes and colors. I can imagine how you can really personalize this to coordinate with your wedding theme and colors.
You can decorate an empty wall or create a wedding cake backdrop with pretty a strand of paper garland, flowers, and a monogram, as shown in this example. This was a real user-submitted image from a customer at PaperKatDesigns using products purchased. Doesn’t it look amazing?
Are your wedding table runners a bit plain, and you want to add a little something to dress them up? These paper garland strands will make your tables pop! Here’s an example of a custom design created for a reception. I really like how these reception tables are assembled.
What’s your favorite paper flower style? I like these spiral flowers, shown below.
One of the best-sellers is, obviously, the paper peonies. Peonies are always a favorite in weddings!
Use a wedding banner
Another way to decorate with paper garland and flowers is with this stylish wedding banner. It is personalized with your names (or name, if planning to use as a bridal shower decoration honoring the bride) with can be adorned with green garland and your choice of paper flowers.
