Let’s get started!
How to Plan Halloween Bachelorette Party
First things first: let’s tackle the basic questions you may be wondering BEFORE you plan a Halloween bachelorette party for the bride-to-be.
Who plans the bachelorette party?
As a rule of thumb, the Maid of Honor and the bridesmaids throw a bachelorette party for the bride.
Where does a Halloween bachelorette party take place?
Anywhere: a favorite restaurant for a spooky night on the town, a Halloween party, a house party — anywhere you’d like it to be. Bonus points if you include some festivities on the itinerary to accompany the Halloween themed bash, like a haunted house, haunted hayride, cider mill, spooky (or just spiky, ha!) bonfire, corn maze, Trick or Treating on Halloween night all dressed up — whatever! You’ll figure it out. :)
When?
Anytime in October!
Why a Halloween bachelorette party?
Because Halloween is awesome, that’s why! And if the bride likes the fall season, spooky things, watching Hocus Pocus on repeat, drinking pumpkin spice lattes like it’s her job, flanneling up and heading out to the cider mill on the weekend, etc., then she may love to have a bachelorette party with a Halloween or fall theme.
Staying in? No problem! Sip on cocktails, mocktails, or brew up some coffee and add fun things to it, a la Leslie Knope — basically a s#$@ton of whipped cream.
You’ll probably want to make some pumpkin spice lattes or hot cocoa, pop some popcorn, eat a giant bowl of candy, and watch Halloween movies on repeat. Hocus Pocus is always a good idea. Speaking of, did you know they made a board game of it?!
Also, throwback Halloween / Jason movies… even if you just have movies playing in the background.
If you don’t like scary movies, you can always drink coffee and let the Gilmore Girls episodes run in the background, especially the ones where they’re planning local Halloween festivities. Fall in Star’s Hollow? The best!
I also like to watch the re-runs of The Office, specifically the Halloween parties. That would be a fun alternative to scary movies while you sit and eat pizza right before you play games (see those later in the list) and/or head out for a night on the town.
And if you need something fun to drink, try this “Witches Brew” by this winery here in Michigan. You can even get it on a Target run, tbh. You can even be extra fancy and order up whatever cocktails or mocktails you can imagine through Drizly and it’s brought to your door. (Crazy!)
The best tip for throwing a bash like this? That’s easy: for a Halloween bachelorette party, make it as fun as possible with Halloween-inspired decor, but keep it still centered on the bride. This way, it doesn’t feel like a Halloween party but a cool mix between Halloween X The Bride. :) You can infuse some of this bachelorette-y things into the mix by playing some silly bachelorette scavenger hunt games like these on the town, or making sure the guests turn in these letters to the bride, or you do the fun “underwear game” where every guest brings in a new pair for the bride to add to her collection of pretty lingerie. It can be Halloween themed: black lace, pairs with orange, etc.
A Halloween bachelorette party is also perfect for a bride who is getting married in October, November, or early December, based on timing!
Now, on to the fun!
Whether you’re basic witches or the freaking Sanderson Sisters, you’ll find everything you need here to plan the most spooktacular bachelorette party with a Halloween theme. :) Enjoy!
