Hi, lovelies! It’s time for the second in our new series, “About the Artist“. This week we’re introducing you to Jenni of Arcadia Artistry, maker of the thumbprint tree guest book, printable wedding signs, programs, and more. You’ve seen Jenni’s work featured on Emmaline Bride before (how could you forget this Harry Potter guest book?!) and we’re honored to share more about Arcadia Artistry in our exclusive interview. We’ll tell you how Jenni began her successful Etsy business, tell you more about what she loves to create, and why she loves to work with couples. (P.S. Thumbprint Tree Guest Book
You may know Arcadia Artistry for Jenni’s signature thumbprint tree guest book, but Jenni creates many other products for weddings, too. In our interview, we find out how she began her business and what she loves to design.
What is the name of your company?
Where are you located?
“I am based in Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania.”

When did you begin your company?
“Arcadia Artistry began on May 1st, 2014.”
Tell us how you began your business.
“After years as a web designer and copy writer I was laid off from my job. At first I felt sort of lost, but now I realize that it was the best thing to ever happen to me. Getting laid off made me stop and think about what I wanted to do with my life. I realized that in all of the years I was working as a full time web designer I barely every had time to draw or paint. Art has always been my passion and I knew I wanted to be drawing more. So I decided to open an Etsy store and sell artwork. At first I didn’t really have much direction or know what I wanted to sell. I was mostly painting wooden boxes I picked up at craft stores. They weren’t really selling so I started to think about what kind of items I would want to buy. That’s when the idea of thumbprint tree guestbooks hit me. I had such a hard time finding cool geeky items to use at my own wedding and I really love thumbprint trees so I started drawing them. I got such a positive response so I kept making new designs.”
What kind of products do you sell?
“I offer thumbprint tree guestbooks, printable wedding signs and recently I added table numbers and wedding programs. Thumbprint trees make really cool guestbook alternatives because they’re sort of like interactive pieces of art that you and your guests create. Every guest leaves their fingerprint on the tree and at the end it’s full of colorful leaves. I’ve always loved drawing trees and I’m also a huge fan of video games, books and movies so I try to incorporate that into my work. I’m always adding new products and trying things out, usually based on customer feedback and suggestions.”
What time of day inspires you most to create?
“I’m a night owl!”
What inspires you the most?
“My customers are my biggest source of inspiration!”
What is your best-selling thumbprint guest book tree right now?
“My best-selling product right now is my Whomping Willow Thumbprint Tree.”
What materials do you work with?
“The final product is a print on high quality artist paper created from digital artwork. But every idea starts as a pencil sketch on paper.”
What do you like best about working with couples?
“I consider it to be a huge honor to have my artwork be a part of one of the most important days of people’s lives. Not only that, but it becomes a piece of art they can hang in their home forever. I also know first hand how stressful wedding planning is so I’m always happy to make sure orders run smoothly and that people get their products on time. It feels good to put people’s mind at ease about at least one small aspect of their wedding.”

“Your wedding is for YOU. Don’t try to please everyone.”
