Are you wondering what to wear instead of a wedding dress?
For brides who simply don’t want to wear a gown, there are plenty of suitable options and jumpsuits are one of the most popular alternatives. If your wedding is a bit more on the casual side or a dress just isn’t your thing, wear a wedding jumpsuit instead.
Bride-to-be, Tara, writes us with this question:
“Hi Emmaline! I don’t want to wear a wedding dress to my low-key casual wedding. I looked at informal dresses but still can’t find something that’s my style. Can I wear a wedding jumpsuit instead of a dress? Will I still look like a Bride?”
Hi Tara! Thanks for writing. Of course you can wear a jumpsuit! It’s a great alternative to a wedding dress, especially if your wedding is, as you pointed out, more on the casual side.
For brides who just don’t like a dress, a pantsuit, jumpsuit, or suit are great options. Many brides who tie the knot in a courthouse ceremony choose a less formal look, with jumpsuits at the top of their radar.
And don’t worry about not looking like “The Bride”! Of course you will! Consider wearing white, ivory, champagne, or something similar. Pair it with a veil or bridal hair accessory, like this. And add a little sparkle (necklace or earrings) and a nice pair of heels or booties.
So, what should you choose? Consider a wedding jumpsuit instead of wedding dress style but made of similar material i.e. lace, chiffon, or satin.
Here are some wedding jumpsuits that will look perfect in place of a dress or fancy ballgown. We spotted these at Barzelai, who makes both jumpsuits and bridal gowns. These jumpsuits are flowy and elegant, perfect for the free-spirited bride. [ See the entire collection here. ]
