Hey, Grooms: this post is for you! What are the best gifts for the bride from groom? What makes a good gift for bride on wedding day? We’ll tell you in today’s blog post!
But first, whether to give the bride or groom a gift on the wedding day is a common question especially after we published this.
Gifts for Bride from Groom: Wedding Gift Exchange
In a wedding gift exchange, the bride and groom give each other a gift the morning of the wedding. But this “tradition” is a newer one and some couples are skipping it altogether.
So, what’s the proper wedding gift exchange etiquette these days? Does the bride receive a gift from the groom? Does the groom receive a gift from the bride? Should you even bother doing a wedding gift exchange?!
So many questions.
Well, whether or not to participate in this “wedding gift exchange” idea really comes down to your own personal preference (and budget). I’ve seen it done both ways. Some couples find a wedding gift exchange to be a fun thing to do (or even as a way to surprise the groom or bride) before the ceremony. It can even tie into your first look and get captured in your wedding photos.
Personally, I think the wedding gift exchange is a fun idea. If I knew of it back when I got married, Andrew and I would have done it. But I think that it can get a little expensive if you’re not careful. I mean, you’re already rocking that gorgeous engagement ring on your finger and you’re about to pay for a wedding, so keep the wedding gifts for the bride from groom / groom from bride at a low price point. Pick something special as a wedding gift they will love, but don’t go nuts with it. A gift for the bride from groom is supposed to be a sweet gesture or a small token of his affection — not necessarily something pricey.
Now, on the other hand of it, if you’re planning to skip this bride and groom gift exchange, I’ve seen couples forget about the gift exchange altogether. There’s no right or wrong way to do it. But since you’ve found this blog post probably looking for some help on the topic, we’ll share some of our top gifts for the bride from groom along with an Ask Emmaline question — this time from a groom! Oh, how we love hearing from our readers! Read on for more!
Tom writes us in our Ask Emmaline section with the following:
“Dear Emmaline Bride, My name is Tom and I am getting married in September. My bride has been busy planning our wedding and I have helped but I work a lot. I want to get her a present for the morning of the wedding to let her know how much she means to me and how happy I am to be marrying her. But I have no idea what to get her. Can you suggest something? Thank you.”
To help you choose something she’ll love, we have rounded up ideas that are fitting as a wedding gift for the bride on your wedding day. Rest assured — these are definitely bride-approved! I know any woman would love any of these wedding gifts from her groom. Take a look!

So neat. I have one of the Dreamlines sketches. My hubs gave it to me for our one year after we went to a wedding. The groom gave it to the bride and they displayed it at the reception as we walked in. It was truly perfect. I love your blog by the way!
