What is trending for 2022 weddings? Uniquely shaped invitations, embroidery, emerald, and eco favors, just to name a few! Today we’re sharing ten of the biggest 2022 wedding trends you’ll be seeing all year long so you can plan accordingly. Let’s start the list with one of my favorite things: shoes!
Wedding Trends to Watch for 2022
1. Comfortable Wedding Shoes Are In
Brides are still going crazy over block heels like we predicted last year; however, we’re also seeing comfortable wedding shoes as one of the most sought-after accessories. They are still very in for 2022.
Comfortable footwear isn’t just limited to heels: flats, getting-ready slippers, and embroidered sneakers — like these by TweetNStitchy — are one of the top 2022 wedding trends to watch this year!
2. Pampas Grass
Pampas was a big trend last year, but that’s not going anywhere anytime soon! Couples are adding this textured element to reception tables, ceremony aisles, and more.
3. Useful Favors
In lieu of favors that go by the wayside and are thrown out, couples are selecting useful wedding favors as a top trend for 2022. Items that give back to nature, like flower seeds for instance, are one of the popular finds we’re seeing.
Couples are also opting for edible wedding favors, since they can be enjoyed at the reception or on the ride home. There’s no plastic trinket to keep forever, just a delicious donut, cookie, or candy bar to enjoy instead. Coffee is a big trend for favors, since guests can take it home to brew it.
4. Green is the Color
One of the most popular 2022 wedding trends is emerald green. We’re seeing this rich hue everywhere, from bridesmaid dresses to guest books, invitations to alternative engagement rings.
5. Arched Wedding Stationery
Stationery trends with arch-shaped details are in this year! This unique shape is unexpected, making a great first impression on your guests.
6. Unexpected Vintage Details
Vintage is in! Old-world glamour and vintage romance are trending, which means you’ll see vintage lace and embroidery on veils and gowns…
…along with unexpected pearl details like jewelry and shoes.
Hair pins with pearls and rhinestone embellishments add the perfect vintage accent.
And we’re also seeing an uptick in bridal accessories with vintage flair such as embroidered handkerchiefs.
And monogrammed touches, like monogrammed clutch purses, necklaces, and bouquet ribbons, just to name a few.
8. Wedding Themes Are Back
After a brief hiatus, wedding themes are back and they’re bigger than ever! Some of the top 2022 wedding trends we’re seeing for themes include: Art Deco, Starry Night Weddings, Mountain Themed weddings for adventurous couples, and Garden Themed Weddings, just to name a few.
We’re also seeing bridal shower themes, from lemon themed showers to fiesta bridal shower themes. Read: The 9 Different Types of Wedding Showers.
9. Non-Traditonal Engagement Rings
Brides are opting for diamond alternatives for various reasons, whether they want to choose a conflict-free option, a more eco-friendly gemstone, or simply want to wear something different. We’re seeing natural gemstones, moissanite, and natural diamonds. Non-traditional engagement rings are one of the top 2022 wedding trends to watch.
9. Garden Lighting
Twinkle lights, curtain walls with lights, and other lighting trends are in! Add a romantic ambiance in an instant with curtain twinkle lights, like these.
10. QR Response Cards
When digital invitations and change of event cards were popular due to necessity during COVID, couples began to get used to digital alternatives. Whether to save paper or for simple convenience, QR rsvp cards are one of the big 2022 wedding trends we love! You can get QR code rsvp cards for guests to use to respond on your wedding website from here on Zazzle.
