Megan and George’s Charleston wedding was full of Southern charm. They were married this past May in Hampton Park among beautiful scenery and extensive floral displays. Following their ceremony in the park, Megan and George celebrated with family and friends at Marion’s in the French Quarter. Charleston Wedding
Megan tells us, “George and I wanted a small, intimate affair inspired by Southern charm. We had our families, with just a small group of our closest friends. I have always wanted to get married outside under a live oak, and was so excited to find out we could get married at Hampton Park! We wanted our reception to be in the heart of downtown, since so many of our family were coming from out of town. This way they could soak up all of the charm Charleston has to offer while being in walking distance, and maybe go out for a night cap after the reception! We chose Marion’s in the French Quarter for it’s location and ambiance; it has a large beautiful oak bar perfect for cocktail hour, with exposed brick walls in the main dining and dancing hall. Beth at Wildflowers, Inc. did our flowers, and kept them light and whimsical. Brick Lane catered the wedding, and really outdid themselves!! The food was amazing, and also Southern Inspired! It was a perfect evening for us, celebrating the beginning of our new life together, and I am so glad for the amazing photographs provided by Brooke Brooks to remember the day! One thing I love most about George is his silly personality, and she captured that about him effortlessly.”
“George and I have the perfect blend of being two individuals, united as one. We are both very independent, following our own dreams and aspirations, while at the same time finding a way to merge our paths together. We offer each other love and support that is endless.”
“Most of the planning and design was done by me. I searched all of the local wedding websites for inspiration, and Etsy became my new best friend. It was a lot of work; I made table runners, stamped all of our favor bags, made signs so our guests would know where to go in the park. It was all worth it! At the end of the night I knew I had planned something so special and everyone had such a wonderful night!”
Words of Wisdom from the bride, “Don’t be afraid to tell people what you want, and be specific!”
