Today we’re featuring Jacee and Darrin’s North Dakota wedding. Their North Dakota wedding includes glamorous shots of the bride and groom in the fields of Fort Ransom, ND, pink bridesmaid dresses, and a beautiful reception surrounded by friends and family. Yvonne Denault from Yvonne Denault Photography captured the wedding day from start to finish.
Jacee the bride tells us, “Darrin and I met while I was in 7th grade and he was in 8th grade. That is the year I switched from going to school in Fort Ransom to going to school in Lisbon. In high school we started talking more because we were both very into music. When I was a sophmore we both spent a lot of time together getting ready for that year’s dinner concert. We grew closer and eventually started dating. Our love and talent for music is what brought us together. We had been together for five years when he asked me to marry him. When we started planning our wedding we knew we didn’t want a traditional church wedding. Although we did have our wedding in a church to us it was anything but traditional to us anyway. We had a elements from both our personalities but Darrin kept out of most of the planning. I thought that our day was perfect for us and featured the things we both love.”
Yvonne the photographer tells us,”The wedding party was an amazing group! I’m still stunned at the shots we did get of the wedding party as we ventured out into the field. Jacee smiles and laughs easily and Darrin is so into her. Fort Ransom provided a stunning backdrop for some of their photos where they stood off in the distance…reminded me of an English countryside. We worked through mud…even woodticks…and got the most amazing captures of the day in that field.”
The reception was decorated with pink and white EVERYWHERE! We went out back to discover they were roasting pork on the rotisserie and all of the food was home-style cooked by a family friend. Best ever!
This crew could party for sure and it was hard not to get out on the dance floor myself. The day ended with a storm rolling in that put a lot of guests in the middle of the street staring at the clouds sitting over the top of Fort Ransom. A common occurrence in North Dakota! Rain makes for good luck and they got enough of it!”

I love that the bride chose to not wear a veil. Very modern!
