Allison and Matt’s rustic Wilmington wedding was absolutely gorgeous! The rustic wedding was held at the Poplar Groves Plantation in Wilmington, North Carolina. Their photographer, Eric from Eric Boneske Photography, captured this wonderful couple and the entire day’s amazing moments.

Allison says, “When Matt and I met, the first thing we found we had in common was our favorite childhood movie, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, an old musical from the 50’s. The movie takes place on a farm in the country and that’s why we wanted to have a rustic barn wedding. We had visited Poplar Grove the year before, for a music festival, and fell in love with its charm! The plantation offered everything we were looking for, and at a great price! We loved that our guests were able to walk the grounds and enjoy the scenery and historical aspects of Poplar Grove!”

“The day was beautiful! Just as we imagined it! With the help of our wedding coordinator Charyl Williams from Social Butterfly Events it went smoothly and looked beautiful! We wanted our flowers to have a wildflower feel and coordinate with the bridesmaids dresses. All of the decor was handmade by Matt and I, and some of our talented friends and family which helped with the cost! Our wedding band was FANTASTIC and kept everyone on the dance floor, except when it was time to eat. We did a buffet style wedding with all southern style foods, including a pig roast, and all the food was stationed in the Barn. Everything tasted amazing and doing the buffet let people pick and choose exactly what they wanted, and eat when they wanted. It kept everyone from staying in their seats for too long.”

“My dress is an Amsale, and I purchased it at Nordstrom’s Wedding Suite in New York. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly! I ordered my shoes from modcloth.com and my necklace was from BHLDN. All other jewelry I wore were heirlooms from my mother’s side.”

“All in all, the day was perfect, exactly what we hoped for! And it was all captured beautiful, by Eric Boneske and crew! We couldn’t be happier with our wedding photos! They captured every little detail and we will cherish them forever!”
