Gold and Black Wedding: Coto de Caza
Alice and Ian met in law school. Alice tells us, “We met in law school over 5 years ago. It was at 7am in the same class, all year long. After our first year, we became close friends bonding over school misery and eating our way around Los Angeles.” When we asked about the proposal, the groom chimed in. Ian tells us, “She was flying back from Denver that day, and I had about 12 hours to plan because I knew it had to happen that day. I picked her up from the airport & dropped her off at her house. She was heading to my place after, so I raced to my home and changed into a suit. I had invited her closest friends to set up candles and roses on the floor of my living room. When she came in, she almost burned her bags as she dropped them too close to the candles. She may or may not have run away to hide in the hallway a couple times in embarrassment when she realized we weren’t the only two people there. The rest is a blur, but it doesn’t matter because she said yes!” What a sweet story! Congrats to the happy couple!
Here’s how their wedding day unfolded:
When we asked about their fondest wedding moment, Alice said, “Sitting at our sweetheart table gazing out at all the joy & love from our family and friends, many who traveled from across the USA and Asia. Really just laughing until we cried, crying until we laughed at practically each moment of the wedding (i.e. vows, speeches, surprise videos, and dancing).”
And, when asked to describe their wedding in three words, they answered: “Euphoric, Intimate, Us.” We love that.
We wanted to know about some interesting facts about the couple. They said, “We’ve watched more movies in the theater than any other person that we know.”
What a beautiful day! Thanks for sharing it with us, Alice and Ian!
Also, thanks to the vendors who brought this wedding to life!
